Newt Considers a Run for RNC Chairman
Source: Digital Journal

As Georgia Republican Leadership meet today to plan for the expected run-off of Saxby Chambliss against Jim Martin, my sources tell me Gingrich is having meetings to discuss his own race.

Newt is best known for leading the charge for the Contract with America. It is this famed Contract that has been credited for the Republican take-over of the US House and Senate in 1994. It is also well believed among traditional Republicans that it has been the abandonment of this contract by elected Republicans that has lead to their downfall.

Since his retirement from elected office, Gingrich has stayed involved in the political grind on many different levels. Newt has released several books, founded American Solutions, and has acted as a political analyst appearing on numerous political programs and radio talk shows.

The Republican base in Newt's home state of Georgia still hail him as a hero and hold him in high regard much like national Republicans do Ronald Reagan. Considering the obvious divide among Republican voters, Newt Gingrich just may be the leader they need to help them once again unite. Gingrich has a proven record of understanding the will of the American people and his experience as a leader is a proven matter of record.

infections?

http://www.rusbasan.com/Humor/Newt.html

"If combat means living in a ditch, females have biological problems staying in a ditch for thirty days because they get infections and they don't have upper body strength. I mean, some do, but they're relatively rare. On the other hand, men are basically little piglets, you drop them in the ditch, they roll around in it, doesn't matter, you know. These things are very real. On the other hand, if combat means being on an Aegis-class cruiser managing the computer controls for twelve ships and their rockets, a female may be again dramatically better than a male who gets very, very frustrated sitting in a chair all the time because males are biologically driven to go out and hunt giraffes."

-- Adjunct Professor Newt Gingrich, Reinhardt College, January 7, 1995, "Renewing American Civilization."

6. Newt should consider doing GEICO commercials.
I am getting tired of the caveman ones.
But wait! He's a newt AND a caveman.
That could be advertising genius.
He could be rich beyond his dreams!
I think I'll e-mail him now!

8. Oh, please. Ohpleaseohpleaseohplease.
Monkeys and bowling balls will ensue. Newt is so over and the only person who doesn't grok that is Newt. His life is now a struggle for vestigial relevance, generally a futile pursuit.

10. Well, Newt clearly sees the GOP has no leader right now.
Bush has left the GOP leaderless, he hasn't given a goddamn about the future of his party and it shows.

I guess the final failure of Gingrichism hasn't discouraged him from trying to fill the vacuum.

12. That'll set 'em back at least a decade
Gingrich typifies the biggest problems of the Republican Party.

Naming him head of the party will be tantamount to political suicide.

15. I agree
after Clinton won Newt said that since they didn't defeat him they would set out to destroy him. That's all we need, more scorched earth tactics from the GOP.

I want a government that FUNCTIONS for crissake not one that engages in the politics of personal destrustion. I'm sick of it. There have to be Republicans out there who want the same thing - let's try to work together for a change to make this a better country rather than fighting the same damn civil war over and over and over. It accomplished nothing but turn people off to politics or it makes them polarized and vindictive.

Enough already. The people in this country deserve a government that is committed to working on solving problems not tearing people apart. If this election taught us anything it is that we just are sick of the nastiness.

If there was a soft patch of clover here I would be rolling around on it in ecstasy.

He will completely disenfranchise the non-nutjob, merely-greedy branch of the GOP and ensure a deep, lasting schism for decades to come.

Do it!!!!!!

19. Awesome.
If Barack Obama has shown the world just one thing, it's that hatred and negativity show up quite ugly when cast in the sunlight of optimism and hope. Newt Gingrich is a hopelessly evil SOB and will certainly be seen in that light as we start to repair the damage done by him and his equally malevolent followers.

Besides, his latest bride is getting a little long in the tooth. It shouldn't take long to find out who else is schlobbing his knob these days, and he ain't gonna get the preferential treatment he enjoyed in the '90s.

28. Woo-hoo! Run Newt run!
What a great package! For Democrats, that is.

Not only one of the most divisive politicians ever. But a cement-headed egomaniac who lets his own wishful thinking trump reality every time.

I still remember when he and Wife #3, exhibiting the utmost taste and class, put their Bridal Registry on the web. The wish list was amazing.

I thought about giving them the set of kitchen knives. Lorean Bobbitt Special Edition...
