Bush administration to blame for McCain's failure, Palin says
Source: McClatchy Newspapers

WASILLA, Alaska -- Gov. Sarah Palin blames the Bush administration for the failure of the McCain-Palin ticket, thinks people need to move on from the so-called "troopergate" controversy and has no plans to stop charging the state per diem for time at her home in Wasilla or having state-funded travel for her children.

Palin also said she loved her time in the national spotlight and won't rule out a run for president or vice president in 2012.

Those were some of Palin's responses to questions posed Sunday afternoon in a wide-ranging interview with the Anchorage Daily News and KTUU Channel 2 at the governor's Wasilla home.

Palin remains a national media obsession; Greta Von Susteren of Fox News had just finished an interview with her and was chatting with the governor and her husband in the kitchen. Moose chili cooked in the crock pot and moose hot dogs lay on the table. Palin insisted they weren't a prop for the national media but just how the family likes to dine.

ed. How very convenient for her that SHE thinks we should move on from Troopergate. I personally hope that Troopergate is just the beginning, and I plan to let my state senator, Hollis French, know about it.

19. I'm curious
Has any of her favorable ratings gone down since the campaign? I mean, does your state really still like her that much or has she become an embarrassment now? Personally, now I know how people around the world think generally of Americans.. unable to understand why we all honored and followed shrub (albeit a wrong impression)... now I feel that way about Alaskans.... (because the only news we get or have gotten in the lower 48 is how much Alaskans love her). Please tell me that has changed.

31. While I agree wholeheartedly with all
of the derogatory coments about Palin and could probably add a few of my own I disagree with the general view that she could not get to first base in a future attempt to run for President or Vice President. While she may have shown herself for what she is and most of us have nothing but disgust she still has ,as far as I know, the support of the religious right and unless someone else rises to the occasion and becomes the flavor of the month during the next few years,Palin will prevail as their choice. If we did'nt know it before, we all got an education over the last eight years on the influence of the religious right on the Republican party. And I don't just mean your everyday religiously inclined individual, but the heirarchies of various religions. What particularly disgusts me and reaffirms my belief that organized religion for the most part are hypocrites of the first order is that they will prostitute themselves to get their own agenda met. They got in bed with the devil when they sold their votes to the Republican party and voted in the most morally corrupt administration in American history. They sat by during the first four years while the evidence poured in, not raising any objections, and voted them in again for another four, all because they were promised that there needs and demands would be met. To me this is just about as hypocritical as you can get considering all the death and destruction and violation of human rights caused by the Bush administration. Palin has shown what a petty thief and liar she is by her recent performance, she has also shown by her attitude and behaviour that she is capable of much more, if given the power. Yet she is still the darling of the religious right and because of that would be a top choice of the Republican party to run again, sociopath that she is, because she can bring in the votes. While I had the same thoughts yesterday they were reaffirmed tonight as I watched the MSNBC documentary on Jonestown this evening and was reminded again of that saying about the more things change, the more they remain the same. As far as I'm concerned the second round of the fight has just begun. The first amounted to getting the Republicans and the religious right out of the White House, the second will be keeping them out and the remaining rounds making sure thay stay out for a long, long time.

Well Sarh-Bear, I don't think you have to spend much time on this one as after the showing you gave, I think the people are going to be ruling it out for you.

However, I read somewhere in 2010 Wassila is going to be electing a new Moose catcher, you should certainly think about that one.

25. She has brass to tell the people of Alaska that she plans to continue draining
their tax dollars on her own self. She charged...what 117 nights or so.. out of 365 to pay herself
while she was at home 40 miles from her office? And the trips for her family... WOW!

IF I were an Alaskian, I'd gather every able body to get up petitions to have her step down. If that
didn't work..I would hold peaceful demonstrations daily outside of her office or home.

"no plans to stop charging the state per diem for time at her home in Wasilla or having state-funded travel for her children."

46. I think I saw somewhere that she could charge for
her children's trips in certain conditions. She could also charge
time for her work at home. But I would think these are all within
reasonable situations, not just cause she wants to take advantage of
her position. When I think of Sarah Palin...fair, honest and moral
do not come to mind.

She just a money grubbing, political climber with no ethics.

28. well they did seal the deal
If our recent opponents in the last election hadn't been dragging the putrid mountain of failure, malfeasance, and just plain ignorance of the Bush record behind them they might have done better.
I doubt if they could have taken it. Obama was a skillful and effective candidate.
I knew Palin was wrong before she repeatedly verified it.
Her record in that little town showed us what we could have expected from her.
When she came in they had a nice little balanced budget.
When she got done $20M had been borrowed from Republican cronies to pay to other Republican cronies for the construction of a useless park.
She's a debt delivery system, just like Junior.

perfect storm. A charismatic, smart Democratic, a nearly flawless campaign, 8 years of Repoublican hell, all made decisive by the news of worldwide economic collapse. However, two of the big reasons why McCain Palin lost were McCain Palin.

52. Palin: Bush policies caused defeat
Source: The Press Association

Alaska governor Sarah Palin has blamed Bush administration policies for the Republican presidential defeat and prayed she would not miss "an open door" for her next political opportunity.

"I'm like, OK, God, if there is an open door for me somewhere, this is what I always pray, I'm like, don't let me miss the open door," Republican vice presidential candidate Mrs Palin said in an interview with Fox News, amid speculation that she will run for US president in four years.

"It's amazing that we did as well as we did," Mrs Palin, who was Senator John McCain's running mate, said of last week's election in a separate interview with the Anchorage Daily News.

"I think the Republican ticket represented too much of the status quo, too much of what had gone on in these last eight years, that Americans were kind of shaking their heads like going, wait a minute, how did we run up a 10 trillion-dollar debt in a Republican administration? How have there been blunders with war strategy under a Republican administration?

"If we're talking change, we want to get far away from what it was that the present administration represented and that is to a great degree what the Republican Party at the time had been representing."

53. No, Sarah, that was only part of it.
The main problem was YOU. Many long-time, staunch Repugs who would have gone ahead and voted for the party could not bring themselves to put someone as unqualified, ignorant, embarrassing, incapable of coherent thought as YOU in a postition to assume the presidency had something happened to McCain. I praise God for you, because McCain's epic failure of judgment in selecting YOU helped "open the door" for Obama's victory! God works in mysterious ways. Now get lost, Sarah. The people have spoken.

"I'm like, OK, God, if there is an open door for me somewhere, this is what I always pray, I'm like, don't let me miss the open door," Republican vice presidential candidate Mrs Palin said in an interview with Fox News, amid speculation that she will run for US president in four years.

That would also be the God of Greed, the God of Avarice, the God of Self-Importance, and the Golden Calf.

83. more so the GOP! what's great is the shocking wording
"I think the Republican ticket represented too much of the status quo, too much of what had gone on in these last eight years, that Americans were kind of shaking their heads like going, wait a minute, how did we run up a $10 trillion debt in a Republican administration? How have there been blunders with war strategy under a Republican administration? If we're talking change, we want to get far away from what it was that the present administration represented and that is to a great degree what the Republican Party at the time had been representing"

imagine if we could have the video tape of her saying such, just a few days before the election - it woulda been something within a hundred electoral votes of 538!

I believe myself to be a Christian. I have no problem with a gay couple getting married, someone having an abortion, etc. It's not even my place to have a problem with such things.

She needs to be praying for forgiveness and leave 2012 to someone more capable.

She mentioned that she prays for God to show her doors, I believe he just showed her the door when he sent her packing all the way back to Alaska.

chance at it again. America's standards for the Presidency have changed forever. We need a thoughtful, brilliant President with a steady hand on the tiller. On the other hand...

You're a nutjob, a whackjob, and a fruitcake. For you, that "door" is going to be double-bolted and locked and blocked with a hundred million tons of concrete. You won't be able to get through that door with a tactical nuke.
