Tiger Woods Says Father `Would've Cried' at Election of Obama

Nov. 10 (Bloomberg) -- Tiger Woods said his late father, Earl, ``would've cried'' at the election of Barack Obama as U.S. president.

Woods, the world's top-ranked golfer whose father was black and mother is Asian, said in an interview with CNBC that Obama's election is ``absolutely incredible. He represents America.''

``He's multiracial, and I was hoping it would happen in my lifetime,'' Woods said in the interview, a transcript of which was provided by the network. ``My father was hoping it would happen in his lifetime. He didn't get to see it, but I'm lucky enough to see a person of color in the White House.''

I really like Tiger and want to think that he would be voting based on something other than his own pocketbook, but I've heard him make a crack or two about how much he pays in taxes. Add that to the rampant GOP mentality on the PGA Tour, and it doesn't add up to voting for someone who wants to repeal the Bush tax cuts. Again, I hope I'm wrong. . .

We can't really blame people who vote with their pocket book and are rich and then blame middle class evangelical people for voting against their pocket books.

We just need to take JOY in the fact that there are less pro golfers voting than evangelicals who are voting Obama because his economics benefit them.
