Palin Decries "Extreme Partisanship"
Source: CNN

MIAMI, Florida (CNN) -- Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin on Thursday argued that she and her fellow Republican governors were ready to put aside "extreme partisanship" and act if Washington fails to provide the leadership America needs.

Speaking at her first formal news conference before the national media since the GOP presidential ticket lost last week, the former vice presidential nominee argued that her fellow Republican governors "don't let obsessive, extreme partisanship ... get in the way of doing what's right."

"I think that this group is going to be looked to and looked at for leadership that perhaps had been lacking in Congress and in Washington, D.C.," she said. "This group is going to be uniquely qualified to provide leadership in this nation."

5. I hereby predeict that one day one of these fools will decry hypocrisy.

One day a Republican will splutter and pout and preen and point at a Dem and shout "HYPOCRISY!"

It will be over an issue on which the Dem is in fact not being hypocritical at all.

7. It plays well with the media and the nit wits that vote for pukes
It always has, pukes say no more dirty politicking, Dems say ok we will stick to the issues, pukes come out with The Dem congressman slept with a three head, 5 titted space monster of unknown sexual gender, so it could be a male, then the Dem has to defend either sleeping with said space monster or try to convince the nit wits out there that theres no such thing as a space monster.

Thats what made Obama different, pukes attacked and he put the facts out there, then when they tried it a second time he just gave his you got to be kidding me laugh and stuck to the issues. In the end america saw a platform by the pukes that stood on nothing but smear and fear, works great for 8 years then americans wake up and realize they are being played for fools.

I should think now that a barrel of oil is down to $56, her state will be going to Washington cup in hand asking for a bailout soon enough.

And, BTW, why is this crazy person still getting so much attention from the media? She's yesterday's news, isn't she?

She lost! She almost single handedly ensured they lost, and they're talking about her getting the nomination in '12?

Good luck to them!

45. Seriously, I think the drug is meth...
Back in the 80's, lots of entertainers and dancers used meth because it was cheap....kept you skinny, suppressed appetite, allowed you to drink large amounts of alcohol, and remain standing, it allowed you to stay up for 3 days, without sleep, no problem. A nap could replace a night's sleep. It made a person VERY speedy, very talkative, with rambling sentences...barely taking a breath. It made a person feel they were FABULOUS and could do anything! It provided false confidence to it's users. As long as person kept using it on a daily basis, in small amounts, they could "function" very well. Extreme amounts of energy...however....you don't want to be near them when they run out of meth.....it's called "Kookin". That's another story. Palin has ALWAYS looked "hopped up" on meth to me. But I have no evidence other than my 'informed' observation.

19. Can we get Paris Hilton's take on this?
This is just mind-boggling. I don't understand how someone who seemingly isn't suffering from trauma related amnesia could possibly even mention extreme partisanship as if it's something that Democrats suffer from.

This same ignorant cow that a mere 10 days ago was essentially calling Obama a Marxist terrorist, has the gall to talk about putting aside partisanship?

Sarah, if I was you, I spend 24 hours a day worrying about 1 thing and 1 thing only - your looks. Because the ONLY reason the Republican base was excited about you was you because you are a decent looking chick. If you gain 10 lbs and a few wrinkles, the boys that so love you now will move on to greener pastures. So bring on the botox and Slim-fast and don't even think about getting pregnant again, or you can kiss 2012 goodbye.

20. It's her narcissism. She can't accept the fact that she lost, so she's recasting reality again.
Sarah Palin is a Republican governor. Therefore, in her mind, there is no better group than Republican governors. They are the important ones, not those people in Washington. If Palin had won, then she as the "leader of the Senate" would still be the most important person in the world, and the Senate would be her court.

If Sarah Palin were dogcatcher of Wasilla, then dogcatchers of small Alaskan towns would be the most important group in the world, and she would be their leader.

28. repugs are always willing to put aside partisanship when THEY'VE LOST
when repugs are in power, they treat the rest of us like garbage.

if we are smart, we will treat them badly to put fear into them. right now they know they can treat us like shit, but we will treat them with roses when we have the power. so repugs have nothing to lose by being assholes to us.

... is not appealing. Have you ever seen a person so absolutely full of themselves as this christianist whackjob? Like bush, something traumatic must have happened to her that has caused this complete projection of all personal responsibility to/as "God's will". Too much of this going around lately. Not healthy in any country, much less the U.S.A.

afterall, that's what she was elected to do.

Alaska will be facing a serious shortfall for teh 2009 budget due to plummeting prices on oil, and she has yet proven herself able to handle a budget while in a recession economy.

Edited on Fri Nov-14-08 01:36 PM by clspector
I don't know if anyone noticed that Rick Perry stepped in and rescued her from questions when she lost it during the "press conference."

Here in Texas, it's an open secret that Governor Goodhair has designs on the White House. He's a pal of Rove, and I suspect Rove is advising him. (The Rove thing is pure speculation on my part, fwiw.) Perry is very ambitious and I don't see him sitting idly by while Miss Sarah tries to snatch the big prize away. The next few years should be very interesting.
