Abramoff said he had agreement with Rove's assistant
Source: Raw Story: Larisa Alexandrovna

Email noting relationship with White House came just a month after Bush took office
Convicted lobbyist Jack Abramoff told his colleagues at his former law firm that he had an “agreement” regarding communications with a former assistant to then-Deputy Chief of Staff, Karl Rove, perhaps the most substantial documented tie between Abramoff and the White House to date.

In the email, dated Feb. 27, 2001, Abramoff reprimands a colleague who asked him to use Susan Ralston – Special Assistant to the President George W. Bush and then-Bush senior adviser Karl Rove – to arrange a meeting with the President for one of his clients.

In response, Abramoff writes that Ralston and he have an “agreement with her as to what we are going to ask her and when.”

Kudos to Larisa for a great piece of investigative work on this one!

Susan Ralston was the gatekeeper for Rove and she cleared all calls with Grover Norquist.

5. Of course, Susan Ralston worked for Abramoff before she went to Rove.
And here she is, helping Rove on election night 2004:

12. And who wrote HAVA?
Edited on Mon Nov-17-08 01:44 PM by Botany
Bob Nye, Abramoff, Rove, & Diebold.

Hence the Ohio 2004 miracle

and what private e-mail accounts did Rove, Abramoff, and Ralston use?

RNC.com and that server was "Smartech" of Chattanooga, TN and where
did Ken Blackwell route the Ohio 2004 returns? Smartech.

"What do these conspiracy people think? That Karl Rove was flipping votes
in the White House basement on a couple of computers?" Tom DeLay 1/6/05 on
the 2004 Presidential Vote's certification.

14. Delay knows OHIO 2004 was 3/4ths punch cards.
Why he would be promoting the e-vote theft cover-up at this early date may be indicting of his knowledge of the real theft!!

You also, of course, know very well that Diebold comes into full play in Ohio 2006,
and with Diebold e-voting, the Dems storm to a resounding victory in Ohio.

The SmarTech cover-up is simply an embarrassment to those promoting the cover-up at this point.
Mark Crispin Miller called the Mike Connell testimony the most important moment in American political history (albeit then a moment-to-come still that failed to arrive).
ROFLMAO ridiculous assertions like this serve to permanently discredit these authors, and hopefully, to finally refocus investigators
on punch card ballot-switching BEFORE the ballots were tallied, the very thing Delay is directing our attention away from.

36. No way. Why should we allow propagation of disinformation and outright LIES?
I am a partisan to the TRUTH, not to LIES.

This steaming pile of SmartTech and Connell bullshit keeps cropping up and needs to be addressed when it does.
Already, too many people have been led to believe this. I even get e-mails with these lies.

34. Ignoring huge circumventions
of presidential records preservation laws would be derelict.

Dismissing all the "minor" violations of procedure, because none of them individually constitute proof of a vast conspiracy, is also sloppy.

Shrugging off the loss of tens of thousands of emails is unthinkable to people who believe in any kind of governmental accountability.

13. We already knew about Ralston & Abramoff...
...that's pretty much why she left. Heat got a little too hot in the kitchen.

Was that a shoe falling? Susan Ralston is the woman who has managed to be at the center of both the Abramoff and the CIA leak investigations. She was Abramoff's executive assistant back in the day; then she took the same job with Karl Rove.

But maybe no more.

The Philippine News (Ralston is of Filipino descent) reports (link courtesy of The Plank) that she's moved on to the Commerce Department because she's been under "too much pressure" at the White House.

30. yes and no and yes
On the Ralston/Abramoff point, yes, it was "suspected" that Ralston was the conduit. But this confirms it, not to mention the refusal of all involved to describe or comment on the "agreement." Confirming something suspected is not re-hashing old news.

On the Grover point, yes. You are right. All I can say right now.;)

24. Too much pressure? Awww....
Typical Prima Donna repuke.
Just thinking about herself, not the country.

Probably worried about how a conviction for public corruption
would look on her resume. Not to mention how a prison term might
adversely affect her complexion.

Typical repuke.

(actually, the least that can be said is got mixed up
with a really bad crowd. But then, you gotta figure people working
for Rove gotta figure the storyline isn't exactly Willie Wonka and
the Chocolate factory.)

26. She sucked up the adulation from The Philippine News like a sponge in a mud puddle.
Every culture needs its heroes. I'm Italian...If I read some positive press about a fellow Italian and it makes me feel good. That's how human beings are wired. That's the way it should be, I think...our roots are very important, and the "Local Boy / Local Girl Makes Good" headlines are pure 100% Americana.

But The Philippine News set up Ralston as a role model, a poster child of sorts, and the house of cards came a-tumbling down.

My feeling is that if she had the basic intelligence required to do her job, she knew who Karl Rove was and what he was. As such, she reaped her well-deserved harvest for her actions.

Alas, in this case that seems not a compliment.

I have no tribe. So instead I have adopted mankind.
I'm proud when people do good things.

Hey, I'm not expecting to win any prizes in philosophy.
Just a guy without a tribe trying to make some sense
of it all best he can. Nice comment.
