"Joe The Plumber" Investigation Released
Source: 10TV OH

Joe Wurzelbacher became a national figure in the presidential campaign when Barack Obama and John McCain featured "Joe the Plumber" in their debate.

In a report released Monday, the Ohio Inspector General said there were 18 separate record checks conducted on him following the Obama-McCain debate.

Of those checks, eight were conducted by various agencies without any legitimate business purpose, according to the report.

The report also says Ohio Department of Job and Family Services Director Helen Jones-Kelley authorized some of the searches.

...

Gov. Ted Strickland has placed Jones-Kelley on paid administrative leave from her $141,980-a-year job as director of the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services during the investigation.

3. Well, it does go in her "permanent record."
Y'know, that double-secret "file" on you that your principals used to try to scare you into obedience with.

4. If I went through someone's files at the office for the purpose of discrediting them...
I'd be frog-marched to my desk, given 3 minutes to grab my stuff and frog-marched out.

Sorry...Joe was a tool but this conduct is beyond justification.

7. When McCain used him as a national topic in the debate wasn't
that reason to find out who this man was? Isn't any public figure who was so prominently part of our national economic solution open to scrutiny?

11. Sure find out who he is and scrutinize him as much as you like,
the government records that are not public should be off limits.

8. Interesting how they report this...
Wasn't Joe The Plumber a creation of McCain?? The article above states "Joe Wurzelbacher became a national figure in the presidential campaign when Barack Obama and John McCain featured "Joe the Plumber" in their debate."

The least they could do is get the story straight here...
