'War criminal' Bush blamed for global crisis
Source: AFP

PROTESTERS have demanded that US President George W Bush get out of Peru where he is attending an Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit, blaming him for the world economic crisis.

"Bush out," about 1000 demonstrators chanted in the centre of the capital Lima, watched by scores of police in riot gear who made sure they did not move towards the APEC summit venue several kilometres away.

"This crisis didn't come from the Peruvian people. We shouldn't have to pay for it," a union leader told the crowd, which demonstrated peacefully.

Mr Bush, one of 21 leaders of Asia-Pacific economies converging on Lima for the weekend summit, arrived shortly after the protest. He was escorted under tight US Secret Service and Peruvian police security from Lima airport to the army headquarters building housing the APEC meetings.

1. Bush did the bidding for his "base". All slink away with the loot of our US Treasury
Bush legacy to the world is the middle finger & a smirk.
No wonder everyone hates him.

He really could care less.
For his tight circle of uber-rich, Bush is their hero.
Only legacy he really gives a shit about.

14. The only reason Bush won't be prosecuted
is that the U.S. is still the richest and most powerful country in the world. Otherwise, he'd be treated like Charles Taylor. Which is worse, trading weapons for diamonds, or invading another country without legal justification, killing thousands of innocent people.

4. We need to put Bush 43 on public trial
It would be reassuring to the world to know that the chimp is no longer in charge and is going to get what is coming to him

16. We only got to see the terrible up climb with him so far
The downside after effect will probably be pretty ugly too. The part of the Karma payback that looks scary to me is if we end up paying for a lot of the other ones before him at the same time:scared:

6. "PROTESTERS have demanded that US President George W Bush get out of Peru ..."
....nah, you keep him down there....he can screw-up less things if he's kept out of Washington....even his Republican friends on wall street think he's a jinx....

"This crisis didn't come from the Peruvian people. We shouldn't have to pay for it,"

....I have to admit you are correct, but unfortunately, we're ALL going to 'have to pay for it'....tell your children, grand-children, friends and neighbors it's the fault of US Capitalism, the US Republican Party and the foolish Americans who voted for them....

10. Then the Law Will Mean Shit in this Country and The Executive will...
forever have reached a precedent that which our forefathers did not envision for this Democratic Republic. What's worse, is just as Nixon sycophants were involved with Nixon, these scumbags may come back to attack our government. To me, they are enemies of the state as well as global terrorists.

9. Worst. President. Ever. is an inadequte characterization
Calling him the "worst president ever" classifies him with all the other presidents. Ranking him last on that list nevertheless puts him in a category (president) that carries with it a degree of honor and achievement.

Yes, George W Bush was (still is, unfortunately) President of the United States of America.

But he is much more (and less) than that. He has brought indescribable dishonor to our country and in eight years he has "achieved" what few thought possible after the previous eight years of peace and prosperity -- an economy in shambles, our military bogged down in two horribly botched occupations, and the "shining city on the hill" splattered with the blood of war crimes and torture.

Bush is in a category of his own but he will remain classified on the list of chief executives because he will remain a free man -- free to enjoy the honors and priveleges of a retired President of the United States.

He will remain out of prison because our political leadership cannot bring itself to publicly admit our government has been headed for not one but two terms by an administration whose principle actors should be brought before The Hague if justice is to be served.

12. Just can't resist
I have to add one more anecdote.

A few years ago, there was an article right here at the DU. It was about how truly hated Bush and Cheney really are.

There were some religious people, I believe they were in Malaysia. The monks were so upset about Bush & Cheney, they held a ceremony and threw 2 ceramic pots into a river. They said that the pots "contained the spirits of these two evil men". They felt that it would keep these two creeps in line.

Moral of the Story.
It just goes to show you, it's incredibly important the image you present. I recall Bush's "tough-Guy" attitude, basically giving the world the finger.

15. The fact that he was at APEC says that there were a few co-conspirators.
Like these trade deals had nothing to do with it? Why else do they think the subprime borrowers were subprime to begin with?
