Dennis Blair To Be Director Of National Intelligence
Source: CBS News

CBS News’ David Martin reports retired Admiral Denny Blair will be the next Director of National Intelligence. Blair was the commander of the U.S. Pacific Command during the Clinton administration. According to a New York Times profile, Blair brings “intimate experience with intelligence during a 34-year Navy career. A brainy retired four-star admiral whose jobs included commander of the United States Pacific Command, he is also an Asia expert who is considered adept at running sprawling organizations, seemingly a prerequisite for heading an office that is still grappling with the task of fusing 16 spy agencies.”

1. Whew. Shouldn't read when I'm tired
I just saw the Blair part and thought HUH????

I don't know anything about Denny Blair, but am sure he's much better than Tony, as well as presumably being an American citizen!

4. Blair's sordid record in East Timor
Dennis Blair has a quite sordid record when it comes to East Timor and Indonesia. As militia and Indonesian military violence was escalating in 1999 Blair went to Indonesia. Instead of delivering a strong message that the Indonesian military should back off, he offered understanding and further U.S. military assistance. The East Timor and Indonesia Action Network (ETAN) describes this here http://etan.org/news/2008/12blair.htm
