Bush on His Legacy: I 'Liberated' Iraqis
Source: ABC News

In a personal and wide-ranging interview conducted by his sister about his legacy, his faith and the influence of his father, President George W. Bush said he hopes to be remembered as a liberator of the Iraqi people.

"I'd like to be a president as somebody who liberated 50 million people and helped achieve peace," Bush told his sister, Dorothy Bush Koch, in a conversation recorded for the oral-history organization StoryCorps for the American Folklife Center at the Library of Congress.

An excerpt of the interview was aired on National Public Radio Thursday, and the White House released additional excerpts with both the president and first lady Laura Bush today.

"I would like to be a person remembered as a person who, first and foremost, did not sell his soul in order to accommodate the political process," Bush said, according to White House excerpts.

59. Worst. President. Ever
Tell you what ol' W Boy, Thousands of years from now, you will STILL be regarded as the most incompetent asshole who was ever in the Presidency. In fact, you're in a race with Caligula for the biggest asshole leader of all time! Grant, Hoover, Harding, Buchannan and Nixon will fade away and be forgotten, but you won't!

President Obama's first action will be to take our flag and put it in a washing machine with enough detergent to wash your hash marks off of it. It may take years...

6. "Liberate", or more accurately, "Mass Murdered". Over 1 million.
It has been estimated that directly due to George W. Bush's pre-emptive war in Iraq, over 1 million Iraqi civilians have lost their lives. Some fucking legacy. Every time he opens his mouth, he violently rapes all that is true, good and just in the Universe.

Oh, wait. No he didn't.

And 9/11 happened on his watch, which had nothing to do with Iraq.

Bush gave us our second Vietnam. That's all he achieved in Iraq.

8. Maybe somebody should ask the Iraqis about the boy king
I don't think he's gonna be remembered as the president who "liberated" them.

He destroyed their country and he's made a pretty good start on destroying this one.

He is a global joke and laughingstock. Too bad it ain't funny.

9. The culprits are his handlers. They had to keep him pumped up to go out
and raise funds, especially for all the travel by air. I figure they told him how well he was doing to keep him joiced up. Karen Hughes, Andy Card, Bartlett, his mother, Bill Bennett types. His Cabinet played along. They supported and grew a monster of delusion.

His legacy? Cheney exiled and buried and maimed Iraqis and attempted to destroy their culture and ancient heritage as well as their businesses, schools, infrastructure and Bush thought it was freeing them.

The bubble boy will die of liver failure thinking he was a success. a lifetime of privilege, surrounded by sycophants and enablers has him convinced that his legacy of failure, death, destruction, fear, and hatred are all the illusion of a hostile "elite".

33. Bush doesn't need to make any efforts on his "legacy"
The verdict is already in by analysts and historians. Bush has been called a "failure", a "failed Presidency". There is nothing which is going to change that fact.

If anything, the verdict is going to be MUCH MUCH worse when we find out about everything he did in the past 8 year. We don't know everything.

Bush's statement about "not selling out" is 100% projection. That's ALL he's ever done:smoke:

He never allowed anyone to tell him anything he didn't want to hear or they'd be fired so he has no idea, none!, of what the world thinks of him.

I hope he gets a good snoot of it as soon as he steps out of the White House.

It would be delightful to see the shock on his face when he hears the truth.
