Kerry Says He's Ready for GOP Onslaught (Clark Endorsement)
Yahoo News

02/13/04

John Kerry, attacked by President Bush's campaign as a pretend foe of the special interests, said Friday he is "ready to fight back" in the battle for the White House. Former candidate Wesley Clark offered to help the front-runner oust the Republican incumbent.
<snip>

Kerry's first stop of the day was in Madison, Wis., where he collected the endorsement of former rival Wesley Clark.

"Request permission to come aboard, the Army's here," Clark, a retired Army general told Kerry, a Navy lieutenant during the Vietnam War, as the two stood together on stage.

As military references abounded, Kerry told the crowd that Clark would stand beside him and "help walk the point in this great battle as we go forward to take back the presidency of the United States. This is the first time in my life I've ever had the privilege of saying welcome aboard to a four-star general."

So does this mean Clark is now part of Kerry's team? IMHO: That would be great news, but that's because I supported Clark. I would love to see him in a leadership position within the Kerry administration when the time comes. I'd also love to see all the other candidates team up with Kerry and find their places within his administration, too. That would be a real dream team.

7. Charlie Rose
I saw Wes Clark on Charlie Rose last night. Very impressive. I admired Clark before but now its doubled. I hope he takes part in the campiagn through this fall and remains active in Democratic politics beyond that.

12. I agree
I was a Clark supporter and was fortunate enough to have my picture made with him when he was in Nashville. I was very impressed with him from the beginning and I am in high hopes he will be part of the next administration - - the KERRY administration. I am now throwing all my support to Kerry. Of course, I will vote for ABB.

4. He can't be
Secretary of Defense, though. He would be great in any other cabinet position though and that's what I'm hoping for.

6. Does the Sec of Defense have to be a civilian maybe?
If that's the case VP or Sec. of State would be fine with me.

14. I misspoke
I was responding to mountainvue's statement that he couldn't be Sec. of Defense, which I don't understand why he couldn't be.

Is there some restriction for high level retired officers is what I should have asked?

16. Sec. Defense Must Have Been Civilian For 10 (?) Years
Rumsfeld was able to do it because he'd been out of the service for enough years.

I think the minimum is 10 years.

11. What possible reason could you have for him not being Sec Of Def?
Rumsfeld had military service in his background. Clark does also. Clark is a civilian .

15. But someone PUHLEEZE explain to me
what the deal is about Clark dropping the dime on Kerry's alleged "dalliance?" We've been down the rabbit hole so long, I can't make heads or tails of it.

17. Easily explained....
It's bullshit. Straight from Mr. Drudge.
I think Clark would make a great Vice President, by the way.
