2 quakes rock northern Pakistan

ISLAMABAD, PAKISTAN - At least 17 people were killed and dozens injured when two earthquakes shook a remote region of northern Pakistan on Saturday.

Hundreds were left homeless. As temperatures fell at sunset, officials worried that more people would die because of exposure. The area is covered by snow.

2. I have a google news alert for earthquakes

and it seems to me that more and more "newsworthy" quakes are occuring with greater frequency. There are small quakes all the time, but many of these have not been small - I wonder if the earth is getting restless or mother nature is trying to shake us off because of the mess were making.

Does anyone else track these things??
