Debt-Ridden Calif. Faces $15B Question
Debt-Ridden Calif. Faces $15B Question
California Must Decide Whether to Approve $15 Billion Bailout Bond, or Go for Taxes or Cuts

The Associated Press

SAN FRANCISCO Feb. 15 — California is quickly running out of cash and bracing for acute financial pain following three years of political procrastination and budget bungling.

Now voters must decide if it makes more sense to approve a $15 billion bailout bond that might extend the misery for a decade or more, or suffer it more intensely through temporary tax increases and deep spending cuts.

Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger is trying to convince voters the bitter medicine should be dispensed gradually that paying back the bailout bond over the next nine to 14 years is the most humane way for California to rehabilitate itself.

His opponents say California will be making a terrible mistake if it shoulders long-term debt to solve short-term problems.

1. Karel addressed this last nite on KGO.
Arnold has not kept any promise. If it passes the 15 billion will have to be paid back as 30 billion. The groper is now raising money to fund a campaign to pass this nonsense. The Golden State is just tarnished brass now.

8. Californians get what they deserve
Vote for the Governator and get your just desserts.

Sorry to all who didn't vote for Arhold, but as John Kerry says "stop crying in your teacups!"

Maybe the Governator's term will wake up CA or maybe they deserve 4 more years of him and more misery. Vote for the Devil, you get Hell.

9. what makes you so sure we voted for him?
One look at the incredibly odd results should throw into question the legitimacy of that circus. Check it out. Thanks for your sympathy, but I dont think we earned the credit.
