Texas employers rank among top states for job cuts
http://austin.bizjournals.com/austin/stories/2004/02/16/daily11.html?jst=b_ln_hl

Employers based in Texas and four other states were among the top five job cutters from 2001 through 2003, according to a survey released Tuesday.

For the three-year period, employers with corporate headquarters in Texas slashed 324,111 jobs, according to outplacement firm Challenger Gray & Christmas Inc. California was ranked first, followed by New York, Illinois, Texas and Michigan.

...just a bit more - but it's good...

1. You have to wonder if any of those workers in Texas will vote democratic
You would have to think that many of those who lost their jobs in CA, MI, IL, and NY would vote for our nominee. It shall be interesting.....below is the rest of the story.

"The nearly 2.08 million jobs lost in those five states represented 45 percent of the 4.6 million workforce reductions announced during that span, the firm says."

3. Texas Republicans

Texas Republicans seem to have the balls to put anti-NAFTA, GATT and WTO clauses in their party platform. They also have strong positions about protecting our borders.

One must wonder why Texas DEMOCRATS cannot put similar anti-Free Trade language in THEIR platform. Perhaps this is why Texas Democrats are getting their asses kicked.

2. According to free traders ...

According to free traders, Texas should be benefiting THE MOST from all those Mexico opportunities.

They're wrong yet again I guess.
