Rumsfeld, Tenet to testify publicly in Sept. 11 probe

Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld and CIA Director George Tenet will testify publicly next month in a federal commission inquiry into the Sept. 11 attacks.

The two-day hearing in late March, to focus on U.S. counterterrorism policy, will be unprecedented in its review of high-level officials in the administrations of both Presidents Clinton and Bush, Philip Zelikow, executive director of the Sept. 11 commission, said Tuesday in an interview with The Associated Press.

Also scheduled to testify are Secretary of State Colin Powell; his predecessor Madeleine Albright; and Clinton's defense secretary, William Cohen.

"We're going to break new ground as we shift the focus from officials in the field to the highest officials in government and foreign policy both before 9-11 and today," Zelikow said.

Rummy can answer why he sat on his ass until after it was over and then played paramedic man on the front lawn of the Pentagon. That's very nice that he wanted to help, but he was needed WHILE it was happening and those planes were allowed to fly all over the GD skies that morning. Where the fu*k was he when it was happening? I'd like that question asked and answered.
It seems everyone in the position to make decisions - Chimpy, The Chairman of the Joint Chiefs, Sec. of Defense were "busy" with lame-ass things and no one wants to ask them why they weren't doing their DUTY.
