Robin Carnahan is IN for U.S. Senate in 2010
Source: Kansas City Star

Carnahan, the two-term Democratic secretary of state, will seek the seat being vacated by four-term Sen. Kit Bond, a Republican.

...

"It also means cracking down on the fraud and abuse both on Wall Street and in Washington that got us into this mess in the first place."

Carnahan announced that she will be a candidate in a video posted on her website, www.robincarnahan.com, that was also e-mailed to supporters (full text of statement below). The video is also available on YouTube at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yaZbGVOgDYI.

I posted about this probability the day Bond announced he wasn't going to run in 2010, and sure enough here she is (the next Senator from Missouri and a good Dem). Even running against Roy Blunt, which is likely, she ought to clean his clock pretty easily.

1. Ah, yes
We can probably also pick up OH, VA, NH, and maybe FL. The Repukes will barely be able to field a softball team for the next Senate session. Then replace Reid with Boxer or Widen and start kicking ass and taking names.

9. Missourian fed up with Repub Senators
Repub Kit Bond is one of our current Senators - Claire McCaskill(D) just beat out the Repub Jim Talent - before that we were saddled with none other than Repub John Ashcroft (who lost to Robin Carnahan's dad who was dead at the time). These Repubs are not progressive enough for me.

7. Her website
http://www.robincarnahan.com/

It's time we had elected leaders who will stop the political bickering and start solving problems. Like rebuilding our economy so that it works for everyone... making government accountable for every nickel it spends... and cracking down on the fraud and abuse both on Wall Street and in Washington. That's why I've decided to run for the U.S. Senate. And that's why I'm asking for your support. Please sign-up to join my campaign. Or click the green button below to make a contribution. We will win this race, but I'll need your help every step of the way.
