US cmdr: Iran still supporting extremists in Iraq
Source: AP

The No. 2 U.S. commander in Iraq says Iran is still providing weapons, training and funding to Shiite extremists in Iraq - an allegation the Iranians have consistently denied.

Lt. Gen. Lloyd Austin says the number of weapons found on the battlefield has decreased thanks to better Iraqi control of the borders and U.S.-Iraqi military operations.

He says "those activities have paid great dividends."

But he says American forces have found recently made rockets and mortars in Iraq and "that leads us to believe that support activity is still ongoing."

He also told reporters Wednesday that some extremists who fled to Iran have returned and been captured.

1. All lies. Is this the line the administration wants us to believe?
They are just itching to get into Iran!

2. Is he one of the generals bent on undermining Obama in the mid east?

3. OF course they are. The little generals don't want their occupation
to end.

4. Give it up already

Follow your orders from your commander in chief or resign.

7. The order to begin planning the troop draw down

This is obviously an attempt, in concert with statments made by Petraeus and another general, in preventing Obama from getting the plan and putting it into action.

8. So even though President Obama is the Commander in Chief
there will be someone else to blame if there is no troop draw down in Iraq?

How can Petraeus and this other guy prevent that from happening?

I would think that President Obama would rightfully fire any insubordinate military leaders.

But hasn't, despite the statements made.

Petraeaus has all but said he won't follow the order. I would have fired him on the spot.
