Knoxville church shooter will 'plead to everything'
Source: Knoxville News Sentinel

A Powell man accused in a fatal shooting rampage at a Knoxville church will die behind bars if a proposed plea agreement is approved Monday, the News Sentinel has learned.

Less than seven months after Jim David Adkisson walked into the Tennessee Valley Unitarian Universalist Church on Kingston Pike and opened fire with a shotgun he had hidden in a guitar case, the 58-year-old grandfather is expected to plead guilty to wounding six people and killing two others.

The church was packed with people who had turned out for a children's performance of the musical "Annie Jr." when, on July 27, Adkisson began firing. Church members wrestled him to the ground but not before Greg McKendry, 60, and Linda Kraeger, 61, were slain. Injured were Tammy Sommers, 38; Joe Barnhart, 77; brother Jack Barnhart, 70; Jack Barnhart's wife, Betty Barnhart, 71; Linda Chavez, 42; and John Worth Jr., 68.

Under the terms of the agreement reached in the case, Adkisson will plead guilty to six counts of attempted murder for which he will receive concurrent 25-year prison terms. He will be sentenced to life without parole for each of the two slayings but those two will be served concurrently, or at the same time as, the other prison terms.

And the Corporate Controlled Complicit Press sure covered this a lot less than they covered the Amish Church shooting, didn't they?

9. It didn't go according to script
A bunch of peace-loving pacifists took the worst Mr. Adkisson could throw at them, disarmed him, and then turned him over to the proper authorities. The corporate controlled complicit press likes their stories bloody and revenge-filled. When people don't take the law into their own hands and deal out rough justice on the spot, the media go foraging elsewhere for stories.

3. Plead "guilty"? Or "not guilty"? One of my pet peeves.
One should not assume everyone understands enough about the law to fill in the blank.

We now return to our regularly shceduled programming.

14. Actually, by his own admission, McVeigh was an atheist...
I was referring to this current asshole, the one who murdered the doctor in NY, and Eric Rudolph

nice try, though

18. It would take a pretty stupid attorney to let his client take this case to trial.
Where did you get that this guy was religious?

19. He was ranting about "liberals and false believers"
Odd how he now listens to a mere man rather the divine voices in his head.
He's a psalm-singing chickenshit.

20. His letter only mentioned liberals and the liberal movement.
I read almost everything about this case as I know people who were involved, I never saw anything about him ranting about anyone other than liberals. Of course he somehow blamed liberals for a reduction in his food stamp allowance, clearly not the sharpest knife in the drawer.

17. Short story.
His wife left him, he lost his job and his wife attended the church that he attacked. He blamed liberals for him losing his job and the church for him losing his wife, and since it was a liberal church he bought a shotgun and made a plan. Then there is the theory that he was brainwashed by O'reilly, Hannity and Limbaugh.
