Republican state senator equates gays to murderers on Senate floor
Source: PageOneQ

During a floor debate, Colorado State Senator Scott Renfroe claimed legal and biblical precedent in his opposition to Senate Bill 88, which proposed equal access to benefits for same-sex spouses of state employees. Homosexuality should not be considered legal, and "the people" already spoke in 2006, he said, when legally recognized domestic partnerships (Referendum I) perished, and a constitutional marriage ban (Amendment 43) succeeded, by popular vote.

2. Mat 22:21
Edited on Wed Feb-25-09 01:14 PM by OneAngryDemocrat
(Ahem... clears throat)

A reading from the Gospel of Matthew...

Mat 22:21 "Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar's; and unto God the things that are God's."

Homosexual TAXPAYERS want what is their's... not what is anybody else's.

Whether it is a STATE marriage certificate to put on their wall...

Or benefits that come from the state, and NOT from God.

These modern-day Pharisees will ALL burn in Hell for assuming to speak for God.

I hate that they use God and Jesus as a weapon and never ever ever get the incredible blasphemy of it.

5. New Mexico State Legislature
Edited on Wed Feb-25-09 03:11 PM by VP505
is experiencing some similar nonsense, there is a Bill working its way through,(SB12)a Domestic Partnership Bill that the religious crazies are fighting it tooth and nail. Fortunately so far every time they introduce a DOMA bill it been shot down but they keep on trying. Now that I listened to the audio, all I can say is WOW, if I hadn't know it was the State Legislature I would have thought he was preaching in some Church.

15. It may seem like a lot....
but in reality, we actually out number them and have always out numbered them. Pay no mind to silly polls and the M$M, those folks have to have all of that in order to look bigger than the rest, but they are not.

16. You say that as if you're sure.
But if they're a minority, why are they always so powerful? Why are they always the ones representing Christianity, and forcing it down everyone's throats?

When do the good, kind, egalitarian Christians start speaking up and taking over the pulpits and airwaves?

7. We've all read this, but Senator Asshole hasn't:
West Wing Skewers Laura Schlessinger

President Josiah Bartlet: You're Dr. Jenna Jacobs, right?

Jenna Jacobs: Yes, sir.

Bartlet: ...Forgive me, Dr. Jacobs. Are you an M.D.?

Jacobs: A Ph.D.

Bartlet: A Ph.D.

Jacobs: Yes, sir.

Bartlet: Psychology?

Jacobs: No, sir.

Bartlet: Theology?

Jacobs: No.

Bartlet: Social work?

Jacobs: I have a Ph.D. in English literature.

Bartlet: I'm asking because on your show, people call in for advice and you go by the name Dr. Jacobs on your show, and I didn't know if maybe your listeners were confused by that and assumed you had advanced training in psychology, theology or health care.

Jacobs: I don't believe they are confused, no, sir.

Bartlet: Good. I like your show. I like how you call homosexuality an abomination.

Jacobs: I don't say homosexuality is an abomination, Mr. President, the Bible does.

Bartlet: Yes, it does. Leviticus.

Jacobs: 18:22.

Bartlet: Chapter and verse. I wanted to ask you a couple of questions while I had you here. I'm interested in selling my youngest daughter into slavery as sanctioned in Exodus 21:7. She's a Georgetown sophomore, speaks fluent Italian, always cleared the table when it was her turn. What would a good price for her be? While thinking about that, can I ask another? My chief of staff, Leo McGarry, insists on working on the Sabbath. Exodus 35:2 clearly says he should be put to death. Am I morally obligated to kill him myself, or is it okay to call the police? Here's one that's really important because we've got a lot of sports fans in this town. Touching the skin of a dead pig makes one unclean. Leviticus 11:7. If they promise to wear gloves, can the Washington Redskins still play football? Can Notre Dame? Can West Point? Does the whole town really have to be together to stone my brother John for planting different crops side-by-side? Can I burn my mother in a small family gathering for wearing garments made from two different threads? Think about those questions, would you? One last thing, while you may be mistaking this for your monthly meeting of the Ignorant Tight-Ass Club, in this building, when the President stands, nobody sits.

8. GOP lawmaker's comments on HIV, promiscuity cause uproar
Source: By Lynn Bartels, Rocky Mountain News

For the second time in three days at the state Capitol, a Republican senator's remarks about sexuality have offended Democratic lawmakers.

Today it was Sen. Dave Schultheis, R-Colorado Springs, who opposed a bill requiring all pregnant women to be tested for HIV so that if they are infected their babies can be treated to prevent the transfer of the virus.

"This stems from sexual promiscuity for the most part and I just can't go there," he said. "We do things continually to remove the consequences of poor behavior, unacceptable behavior, quite frankly."

On Monday, Sen. Scott Renfroe, R-Greeley, used biblical references when he linked murder and homosexuality during debate on a bill to extend health care benefits to the partners of gay and lesbian state workers.

12. If I say what I'd like to say about this asshole, I'd have federal agents showing up on my doorstep.
So I'll just say this.

Hey Renfroe, go fuck yourself.
