Gov. Bobby Jindal headed for vacation after GOP speech
Source: The Associated Press

BATON ROUGE -- After giving one of the biggest speeches in his time as a politician, Gov. Bobby Jindal is heading to Disney World.

Jindal's office says the governor and his family leave for the Orlando vacation resort today.

<snip>

In the speech, Jindal talked of the need to cut taxes and to lessen dependance on government intervention, and he criticized the federal stimulus package as irresponsible.

While Jindal leaves for vacation, a group of local Democratic legislators planned to blast the governor's opposition to the stimulus, saying Jindal is using the stimulus to further his own political career.

21. that's not Jindal. Goofy is cool. LOL
plus, I wouldn't let him get in costume if it was him - no one like that turd should be near the characters - I hope a few politically-savvy "friends" of Goofy make sure to squeeze him a little hard and bump him around a little! HA

25. True story about a run in with Goofy
When I was fourteen, we took a family trip to Disney World and it was one of those packages where we stayed on property and it included breakfast with the characters. My then-five year old cousin wanted Goofy to sign his autograph book. Kid was sitting next to me, but I bent down to pick up the fork I'd dropped and so didn't see Goofy lean across the table to give the book back. I raised back up at precisely the wrong moment, and slammed my head against Goofy's nose. Which I swear to god was made of titanium or possibly the adamantium they made Wolverine's skeleton out of.

To this day my head STILL hurts any time I see a pic of Goofy. Kinda like Pavlov's dog. :silly:

Narrator: Gov. Jindal, you just made a fool of yourself on national television and humiliated your political party! What are you going to do next?
Jindal: I'm going to Disney World!

8. He really needs to take a speech class. Worst speech ever.
If I had given a speech in college speech class like he did, I would have failed. He was obviously speaking from a teleprompter. He sucks as a speaker.

Regardless, still got an A, because I was able to use technology to my advantage (and that was before 2000).

Stupid business submajor requirements.. I hope it gets fixed when I go back to college (soon)

13. what a wuss
when the Governor of Louisiana doesn't do Mardi Gras, but instead goes to wimpy pre-processed Disney World, you know they seriously need some better leadership.

Edwards gets out of the joint in 2011... just sayin'... "Vote for the Crook. At Least He's Honest!"

20. take that BACK! we're not pre-processed.
we're just under rat control (and it aint from Mickey!), but trust me, if you saw me in action, you'd find it hard to say we're 'pre-processed' when I AM there... LOL

I don't follow silly rules, and have a blast. Oh, but Jindal being here this week??? I'll make sure to not be there. And I could EASILY see him and get pictures for us all, but I'd rather stick my finger down my throat.

31. Mr. Rogers was so much better than Jindal
http://www.cnn.com/2008/LIVING/wayoflife/07/28/mf.mrrogers.neighbor/

Here are 15 things everyone should know about Fred Rogers:

Every one of Mr. Roger's cardigan sweaters was hand-knitted by Fred Rogers' mother.

1. Even Koko the Gorilla loved him. Most people have heard of Koko, the Stanford-educated gorilla who could speak about 1000 words in American Sign Language, and understand about 2000 in English.

What most people don't know, however, is that Koko was an avid Mister Rogers' Neighborhood fan. As Esquire reported, when Fred Rogers took a trip out to meet Koko for his show, not only did she immediately wrap her arms around him and embrace him, she did what she'd always seen him do onscreen: she proceeded to take his shoes off!

2. He made thieves think twice. According to a TV Guide piece on him, Fred Rogers drove a plain old Impala for years. One day, however, the car was stolen from the street near the TV station. When Rogers filed a police report, the story was picked up by every newspaper, radio and media outlet around town.

Amazingly, within 48 hours the car was left in the exact spot where it was taken from, with an apology on the dashboard. It read, "If we'd known it was yours, we never would have taken it." '

This dork is a rising star in the GOP? Are you kidding? He has zero charisma, is a lousy speaker, & reminds me of the kid who got stuffed in his locker daily in junior high.
