Envoy: U.S. Has No Plans to Attack Cuba
America's chief diplomat in Havana issued a statement Friday to emphasize that no U.S. military action is planned against Cuba.

The statement by James Cason, chief of the U.S. Interests Section, was distributed to international journalists in Cuba one week after President Fidel Castro challenged President Bush to be clear about how Washington plans to realize a transition to democracy on the island.

2. Which of course means we DO have plans to attack Cuba
Hell, it probably means we have plans to frame them for a MIHOP attack a la Operation Northwoods.

WWFMD? What would Ferdinand Marcos do? It work in deconstructing Bushevik Lies EVERY TIME!

4. Never Believe Anything
until it's officially been denied. Now I'm worried.

But somehow I don't think the American public would stand for an attack on Cuba now. It just doesn't fit in.

9. U.S. Has No Plans to Attack Cuba.

However, we do keep the plans for Operation Northwoods handy and ready to be dusted off just in case.

10. because the "president" can't think that far ahaed
he'll just order it one day when he finally gets enough curiosity to ask "how am I doing in the polls?"

After all, the US didn't have any plans for ruling Iraq, but that didn't stop Bush invading.

12. Reminds me of his 2000 campaign
when he spoke frequently about ousting Saddam. His debates were riddled with this talk.

13. Gore/Lieberman did the same thing
Edited on Sat Feb-21-04 10:23 AM by Mika
Almost every presidential candidate (except D Kucinich) comes to Miami to visit with the extremist foundations to rail against Castro and declare that the evil Dr Castro WILL fall under their presidency.

Betcha most DUers don't know that Jorge Mas Canosa was a Clinton/Gore campaign fundraiser in Florida.

Democracy for sale - Clinton signed a succession of anti Cuba bills proffered by the paid minions of the extremist minority anti Cuba exiles.

14. Reminds me of the 2004 Democratic presidential campaign

Wesley Clark: "I will not take steps that reward Fidel Castro.”

Howard Dean: "… Castro must not be rewarded …”

Sen. John Edwards: "Full sanctions should not be lifted until Castro and his brutal regime are gone.”

Sen. John Kerry: "I am not prepared to lay down conditions at this time for lifting the embargo, because I believe that we need a major review of U.S. policy toward Cuba.”

Rep. Dennis Kucinich: "I strongly favor ending the embargo on Cuba. Our policy toward Cuba has created misery for the Cuban people and has harmed our own national interests. My administration will work to normalize relations with Cuba.”

15. Still in the stone ages
Its all about campaign contributions and maintaining the status quo.

Only ONE candidate for US president
openly states that he would end the
unjust policy of sanctions and embargoes
against Cuba AND Americans.

That candidate is Dennis Kucinich.

no matter how much lying through the teeth even DU condones to justify locking threads like this every single time DU's pointless flamers do their thing, with impunity I might add, and anyone with integrity challenges their lies and bullshit:

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=102&topic_id=373288

Or else?

Guess DU explains why all the leading 2004 Democratic* p/residential contenders have painted themselves into the extremist right wing minority corner, right down to DU's favorite press secretary making Kucinich invisible.

Go figure!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
