One (Australian) Killed in Afghan Helicopter Crash
A helicopter carrying workers from a U.S. construction company crashed Sunday in southern Afghanistan (news - web sites) after coming under small arms fire, killing at least one person and seriously injuring another, a U.S. Embassy official said.

The Australian pilot of the helicopter was killed and an American passenger who was working in setting up health clinics in the region was seriously injured, the embassy official told The Associated Press on condition of anonymity.

"Apparently the helicopter was forced down by small arms fire," the official said.
