US, Britain “created facts” before Iraq war: Blix
The United States and Britain “created facts where there were no facts” in the run-up to last year’s war in Iraq, the former head of the United Nations’ weapons inspections team in the country said in an interview published on Tuesday.

Hans Blix, whose teams did not make significant weapons finds during months of searching Iraq before the war, has repeatedly criticized in recent weeks US and British handling of information ahead of the war.

“Our inspectors had a fixed phraseology. If something was missing, then the official formulation was `yet to be established,”’ Blix was quoted as saying by the German weekly Stern. “But the Americans and British persistently read `exists.’ So they created facts where there were no facts.”

2. Kay said, " We were all wrong." But....
of course, we weren't all wrong. Many of us didn't believe the hype. Blix never believed it. The Russians never believed it. Many in the US didn't believe it (Dean and Kucinich and me, for example). Good on Blix for speaking the truth!

4. I never did...
believe, simply because we had destroyed all the Iraqi infrastructure necessary to produce such weapons back in 1991 and through subsequent strikes during the intervening 12 years.

6. OK, we know this already, so when is someone going to charge the
Bush Junta with war crimes. It's been established that he lied to get us into war for a year now.

7. Why is this in LBN?
Most of us didn't need Dr. Blix to tell us this. We knew about it well over a year ago.

8. because it is a news story in a paper
that has information that many people need to read.

Maybe someone is just "dropping by" today and will see this headline and perhaps read this and understand that there is validation for the knowledge that many of us already have.

We need more people to understand the facts and quit believing the lies of this junta.

For me - just reading the headline - my first thought was a "Well Duh" post.

Thanks for making me think about the reason that we post here :)

9. They didn't so much create facts
As had fact-free intelligence. After all, facts are stubborn things.
