2 Iraqis killed, envoy says wide range of Iraqis agree w/ election delay
Unknown gunmen killed in separate attacks in northern Iraq a senior police officer and a former member of the Baath party, police said on Wednesday.

Police General Hikmat Mahmud Mohammad was shot dead by three men in an Opel car as he left his house at 7:30 am (0430 GMT) in Mosul, Lieutenant Colonel Abdul Azel Hazem Khafudi told AFP.

Lakhdar Brahimi, who authored a UN report on Iraq released this week, said his fact-finding team met with between 400 and 600 Iraqis during its mission, and he felt no strong opposition to delaying elections until late this year or early next year.

"The impression we had was that we very conclusively demonstrated to them that no credible elections are really possible before the 30th of June," Brahimi told reporters at the Japan National Press Club. "The impression we had was that all our interlocutors - and there were hundreds of them - agreed with us."

1. Hey George: Duh!
How predictable was this? Insurgents shooting police trainees and officers, killing civilians, and the Bush MisAdministration thinks they'll be able to pull off elections?

2. It's a remarkably clever strategy
There are no jobs in Iraq. The crusaders import Bangladeshis, Philippinos, you name it, to serve them, the only jobs Iraqis can apply for are as official collaborators.

So they line up, Iraq's remaining able-bodied men, desperate to earn a little food for their kids, they line up, and surprisingly large amounts of plastic explosives blow them up.

One would think that the Resistance would deploy such premium materiel in locations more likely to net a crusader.

And one would think that they would encourage their neighbors and cousins to "collaborate" in order to harvest valuable intelligence and logistic information to maximize the effectiveness of such deployment.

3. Puppet government
Iraq governing council looked on with suspicion by Iraqis who KNOW its a hand picked team from the US who were put in power and still being paid for the lies they told to twist the intelligence data to fit the needs of PNAC ..
Its a civil war and our kids are sitting ducks because they have been sent to a never ending slaughter.
In the meantime, the news ignores it totally in favour of fluff news about stooooooopid Gibson. Like we GIVE a shit when our kids are dying and being attacked over there...........
