Britain to set up embassy in Iraq in four months
LONDON, Feb. 27 (Xinhuanet) -- Britain is preparing to open its biggest embassy in the Middle East in Iraq and plans to have the new mission ready for diplomats, security personnel and other officials by July 1, the Times newspaper of London reported Friday.

Uppermost in the planning is security for the estimated 60 British officials, most of them members of the Foreign Service and experts from other government departments, who will work in Iraq as advisers in the Iraqi government ministries.

The British move is likely to be followed by the United States which is planning to build its largest embassy in the world in Baghdad with a staff of 3,000, the report said. Enditem

1. I believe they are called 'colonial offices', not embassies
Embassies are used to facilitate diplomatic relations between sovereign nations, which is clearly not the case in Iraq now.
