APDENVER—A federal judge in Colorado says she was approached by White House intermediaries about a possible nomination to the Supreme Court, The Pueblo Chieftain reported Tuesday.
U.S. District Judge Christine Arguello (ar-GWAY-oh) told the newspaper that people "who are in direct contact with the White House" asked if she was willing to undergo the scrutiny of a Supreme Court nomination.
"I said yes," The Chieftain quoted Arguello as saying. "I wouldn't have gone this far if I didn't think I could serve my country in this way."
Arguello was in court Tuesday and unavailable for comment.
