Bush Focuses on Raising Campaign Cash
http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=694&ncid=703&e=2&u=/ap/20040227/ap_on_el_pr/bush_fund_raising

WASHINGTON - President Bush (news - web sites) plans a week of heavy fund raising starting Monday, collecting campaign cash in the nation's capital, California and Texas for his re-election and for fellow Republicans.

Bush starts with a reception Monday for the National Republican Senatorial Committee in Washington. Most of Bush's fund-raisers are open to the news media, but reporters are barred from this event.

On Wednesday, Bush flies to Los Angeles for a pair of fund-raisers — a midday event for his re-election campaign, and a dinner for the Republican National Committee (news - web sites). It will be his 11th visit to the state since taking office.

Bush has a third California fund-raiser scheduled for Thursday in Santa Clara. He also planned a public event on the economy in Bakersfield, Calif.

3. Oh easy
Bush is concerned about Comcast's bid for Disney, and is raising the cash to prepare a rival bid.

If he can buy Disney, then he can order Peter Jennings and Mickey Mouse deliver his stump speeches for him.

2. Why is this news? Fundraising is Bush's job and past time rolled into one
job -- the Presidency.

I'm sure they're releasing the totals to rub it into the Democrats.

children alive and not smiling, joking, fund raising while they're being killed? And doesn't Kerry announce he would NEVER fund raise, take a vacation, and would hold a Press Conference every week while President if we were at war. Because the most important task is to care for our children and bring them all home alive! And the parents deserve to see me answer their questions weekly!

Scum sucking Dems. are a bunch of coward whores too! Only Dean and Nader have any moral values!

12. Great point
Bush is either fund raising or he is vacationing

That's why he's stonewalling on 9/11

The man is not competent to be president

I would think there's a limit to how much cash they can successfully deploy unless they plan to buy up all the air time available between now and movember.

11. Well, actually,

I would think there's a limit to how much cash they can successfully deploy unless they plan to buy up all the air time available between now and movember.

It might make sense for Bush to just up and buy a cable network. Cable isn't subject to any equal time requirement, so he could just change Animal Planet to Bush Planet and run the speech he gave on that aircraft carrier over and over and over again.

Let's Roll.
Bring it on.
Let's Roll.
Bring it on.
Let's Roll.

14. We should demand proof that his campaign is paying for these
trips. He raised a million here in Kentucky yesterday, and I know that it cost him a lot more than that to fly Air Force One down here.

17. So 200 million already is not enough?
I wonder how he intends to spend all that money - 35 weeks till the election. 200 million breaks down to approx $816000 per DAY. How absolutely obscene!! Just think how many people could have health care or education with that!
Anyone know what would most likely happen to any leftover money if he loses the election?

18. I really don't think...
... Bush* can buy this election with any amount of money. Once people are disgusted with a politician, no amount of ads in your face helps. In fact, it might hurt :)

Let him raise his cash. It's too late for that now.
