Blair's Office Says He Once Slept on Bench
LONDON (AP) - Prime Minister Tony Blair once spent a night sleeping on a park bench as a teenager, his office confirmed Saturday, after a tabloid newspaper revealed Blair's past as a ``homeless dropout.''

The Sunday Mirror reported that Blair's wife Cherie had told guests at a Downing Street reception last week that Blair, now 50, had slept on a bench near London's Euston station in 1971 because he had nowhere else to stay. He had come to London after leaving Fettes College, an Edinburgh private school, and before beginning studies at Oxford University.

Cherie Blair reportedly said the experience had given the prime minister a special interest in the problem of homelessness.

A spokesman for Blair's 10 Downing Street office confirmed the incident had occurred.

4. Poodle On The Bench
Put his sorry butt back on the bench and maybe he'll get a reality check. He is nothing but a lap dog for the Neocons.

Brits, Kick him out of office!

7. He slept rough or was rough trade?
Poor Tony. It's rough having a heart as big as the great outdoors.

10. Tony's street cred...
Blair is 'Straight outta Compton'

This is really pathetic...

I spent a night on a few benches...it didn't necessarily give me insight into homelessness (I usually talk to homeless people for that)...but it did give me perspective on what drugs and alcohol shouldn't be mixed...

11. A spokesman for Blair's #10 office confirmed the incident had occurred"
This wouldn't happen to be the same spokesman that 'confirmed' the 45 min claim?

So :wtf: else is new with you poodleboy?

I'm so sick of this crap! Its like all of this RICH pigs now talk about how "down and out" they once were - aka John O'Neill comparing himself to Byrd during the hearings last year.

Does this mean that the harder you've had it the better you are?

If so, then go for Kucinich!

What a loser ...

Brits dump Blair!!!! :argh:

:dem: :kick:
