Iran allocates $1.5 mn to fight "US conspiracies"
The Iranian parliament adopted a bill authorising the government to spend $1million and 500 thousand to "neutralise US plots and conspiracies" against the Islamic republic.

MPs also said that Iranian victims of Iraqi chemical weapons attacks during the two countries' 1980-1988 war would be able to access the fund to make compensation claims in international courts.

Funding to counter US "conspiracies" is a regular feature of Iran's annual budget, and a large part of the funding generally goes to state-sponsored bodies which organise anti-American rallies.

The same amount was allocated last year.

1. So much money
I wonder if any of this money is coming out of the personal coffers of the mullahs. Oh, wait, it's just part of their national budget for terrorism.

3. $1.5 million is nothing compared to what the U.S. spends
The U.S. government's support for terrorist leaders and nations is well documented, and vastly exceeds $1.5 million a year.

Those who live in glass houses should not throw stones.

4. No, not to their personal coffers
the money will be used to crack down on liberal, modernist, pro-democracy forces within the country, using Americans as the excuse. The religious conservatives in Iran use the same formula that's worked so well for them here - they accuse progressives of being unpatriotic and untrue to the spirit of the Constitution, when in reality the reverse is true.

2. They need to up that amount to 150 million!
What are they thinking?
(With an additional 500 million going into the black-ops
part of the program: money that should be used to BUY
nuclear warheads and medium-range missles.)
