United States increases its military clout across Africa
The United States is scaling up its military presence in Africa as concern mounts over terrorist threats - both immediate and future - on the continent, the deputy head of American forces in Europe said.

"The threat is not weakening, it is growing," U.S. Air Force General Charles Wald said in a telephone interview Friday with The Associated Press from Luanda, Angola. "We can't just sit back and let it grow."

The focus on Africa is part of major restructuring as U.S. forces in Europe reposition for the war against terror.

The European Command oversees U.S. military activities in Africa excluding the Horn, site of a U.S. counterterrorism effort for northeast Africa and Yemen.

Africa is of growing strategic interest to the United States because of its terror links and its oil, seen as a possible alternative to Middle East fuel.

1. EMPIRE!!!
What else can we say? We have the military, the weapons, and the corporate money. We will bankrupt ourselves and the rest of the world as we given them cause to arm instead of eat. 50 years from now, none of this will matter to most of us...we will be dean or senile.

We will march into Africa now with our military. We are the terrorists it seems--we have terrified every other small nation with our relentless murder of tens of thousands of the innocent citizens of Afganistan and Iraq and Iraw on lies and who knows what lies on Afganistan, and we are a menacing threat to all those who are weak and whose stuff we covet with our shock and awe blitzkrieg. Africa has something Bush wants soooo now it is time to begin the lies and propaganda-- the "threat" from Africa is growing. I guess they are "thinking" that they must protect themselves from the US stealing it's oil too so tbey may be "thinking" of expanding their defensive military, if they have any at all. That's it!! by that act of thinking, they are terrorists and a threat to the United States!

I hate Bush and these evil people under him. He is not a good man.
