Aristide's departure leaves capital streets in chaos
<clips>

Port-au-Prince, Feb 29 (EFE).- Chaos reigned in the Haitian capital Sunday after President Jean-Bertrand Aristide's departure, with shootouts, the apparent executions of three people and looting in the downtown area.

EFE confirmed the deaths of three people, shot in the head execution-style as they traveled in a red vehicle near the home of Haitian Prime Minister Ivone Neptune.

The killings, the first to be confirmed after a morning of intense shooting throughout the city, came shortly before Boniface Alexandre, president of the country's Supreme Court, was named the new president of Haiti. The ceremony was held at Neptune's home and was attended by U.S. Ambassador to Haiti James Foley.

In the meantime, U.S. President George W. Bush confirmed that he had ordered 400-600 Marines sent to Haiti immediately as Washington's first contribution to a multinational force to reestablish "order and stability" in the country.

2. I heard that--it was just after the interview with Aristide's wife who
was saying at that point they were not leaving but that her children were sent to the US to her parents. Today they reported that while there's a blood bath going on that the marines helicopters were circling and watching it all happen! :puke:

Special on Haiti crisis today on Democracy Now from 7-9 eastern time, which you probably know.

4. The truth be known.
Media emails:
Here are some of the media email addresses. If enough people send emails demanding the truth, they may be compelled to report if they feel their credibility is threatened. Remember to be professional as possible. Being courteous yet demanding and to the point will be more powerful than screaming and cursing.
