UPDATE: Dem Senator Denies Bloomberg Story
Source: Huffington Post

UPDATE: Sen. Kent Conrad (D-N.D.) denied the Bloomberg story, saying Rahm Emanuel never said President Obama was open to giving up the public option. A spokesman said:

Conrad says Emanuel was speaking in reference to the need to overhaul the health care system as a whole -- to forge compromise and get a bill to the president's desk. It was in no way a comment on the president's willingness to do away with a public option.

1. Wow, What A Surprise, Yet ANOTHER Misrepresentation Of What Obama Says By The Corp. Media
That the same DU'ers use time and again to slam Obama with.

2. I know, it's a shocker, isn't it? ;)
I'm sure there's been plenty of poutrage over the original, FALSE story just as I'm sure those who threw a fit over it won't have the courage to admit they were wrong.

13. The media in this country sucks donkey dicks
I hope people here can read with a critical eye before going off because of anything the media says. The media in it's present form is a sworn enemy of democracy, only beholden to those in power economically.
Too many people here get spooked by the scoop, resulting in them going off half cocked without accurate info. Sometimes there are more jerked knees here than a Jamaican zombie BBQ.

14. What Obama says is completely irrelevant...
It's what he DOES that matters. There will be plenty of opportunity to slam him when he's finished selling out on health care. And he's almost there; the fact that the citizens will be screwed has already been locked in stone. All that remains to be seen is how bad the screwing will be. Single-payer was taken off the table from the beginning, and there will be either NO public option, or a neutered one.

So... progressives who believe Obama has sold out on the things that matter most don't need corporate media misrepresentations to hang their hat on. They can simply point to his actions.

16. Slammers Don't Need ANYTHING To Slam, They Only Need To Know The Future
Just like you. You already KNOW he's sold you out on healthcare.

Read the final bill have you, Kreskin?

17. In the practice of psychology there's a general rule that is followed...
...and it is accurate almost 100% of the time:

The best predictor of future behavior is past behavior.

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see where health care is going. But that's not the point. There's no need to predict the future when it comes to Obama and the many "centrist", DLC, Republican-lite, Democrats in Congress - one can simply point to their past behavior and know that they have sold out on the things that matter most.

Pay attention to what Obama actually DOES, instead of swooning over everything he SAYS. Give him credit when credit is due, and only when credit is due. This isn't some sport, where you root for your team and ridicule those who don't view it as a game. Our way of life is at stake here. It is our responsibility to hold our government accountable - regardless of party. Are you doing that? Are are you offended by those who are?

18. LOL! Ok Freud!!
Because over months you've determined every thing he's ever going to do from here on out.

So you're a combination of Freud AND Kreskin! How about I call you Freuskin?

7. Exactly. It's a pretty big thing for HIM to clear up this misunderstanding. Hopefully it signifies
his co-op option is going down. (or my wishful thinking).

9. I'm thinking there's a 50-50 chance that Rahm got after him for babbling yesterday
and told him to "fix it".

Neither one of them is to be trusted.

5. Of course Obama never said that.
After what he said yesterday during the press conference, it seemed unbelievable that he changed his mind that quickly.

And I'm glad I didn't jump to conclusions on this.

11. LOL! No way! I have seen all too often, sadly, how factual threads...
die while hyperbolic, misleading threads live on...and on...and on!

I meant to recommend this thread earlier and will do so now.

12. I'm so confused. I just saw a clip where Obama says
he hasn't said he won't take a public option off the table. It was on GayUSA.
