Police Say Woman Found Dead With McNair Purchased Gun

The Nashville police confirmed Monday night that the handgun found in the apartment where Steve McNair was found shot to death Saturday was purchased Thursday by Sahel Kazemi, the 20-year-old woman who was found dead alongside him.

Kazemi was too young, under federal law, to buy a handgun from a registered dealer. The law requires purchasers to be 21, the same age required for a permit to carry a gun in Tennessee.

Although the police have ruled McNair’s death a homicide, they have not classified Kazemi’s death. They are investigating it as a possible murder-suicide but have not ruled out other possibilities. McNair, a former N.F.L. star quarterback, was shot four times; Kazemi had a gunshot wound to the head. The gun was found under Kazemi’s body, but according to Aaron, tests to determine if gunshot residue was on Kazemi’s hands were not complete.

McNair, 36, was married and had four sons, but the police have said he had a “dating relationship” with Kazemi. Federal law prohibits an FFL (Federal Firearms License holder) from selling to someone < 21, but state law doesn't prohibit a private sale to someone over 18.

and the one that my son experienced as a part time employee in a state park - carrying a firearm in a state park. There are rumblings about how to section off parts of the city/county/state parks into gun zones and gun free zones.

Oh, I don't give a good god damn abut whether she had a CCL, I know lots of nuts who have those. It's all good because there are many who are re thinking going into restaurants and bars. And whether people want to be in state parks anymore. The employees of state parks aren't exactly thrilled about these changes. But, yee trying to compensate for whatever, carry on.

I used to pray for the hubby's plane to land safely, then after betrayal, I prayed for it to crash.

Then I threw off the bonds of matrimony that only seemed to bind me. Had he died, there would have been survivor benefits for the kids, and a lot of lawyers would have gone hungry. The kids and I would have been much better off.

I was actually told that myth in rehab by a PROFESSIONAL counselor. At first it struck me as that can't be true. First of all only two cities are going to have devoted fans, one team wins so you subtract the winning city as well as various fans. I'd expect a SEC Southern Rivalry games to have higher instances of DV then the Super Bowl and not because of any Southern stereotype, those fans are highly devoted and very much hate the other team.

2nd I've been VERY mad for a very long time watching the Cardinals blow game after game but I never hit anyone over it.

It wasn't until I saw Snopes debunk it which made me angry that a paid professional trotted that myth in a room full of people.

the girl is shot in the head with the gun under her body and McNair is shot multiple times.

Wonder if perhaps a family member of the young woman was present? What if he shot and killed her lover and then killed the woman? On many levels her behavior would be considered "bad" by religious standards, adultery with a married man and sex outside marriage, it would even be worse if she were pregnant. Mix that situation with a religious parent or sibling and you have the recipe for an honor killing.

Seems really violent for a lover's argument and for someone so young, but then I am not detective.

saying "She was so happy...She just had it made, you know, (with) this guy taking care of everything." Doesn't sound like the relatives were too upset over her dating him, if you ask me.
