"I don't think this is the solution at the global level," Roberto Kobeh Gonzalez, president of the International Civil Aviation Organisation, told reporters.


"Discouraging passengers from going on particular aircraft or particular airlines on certain routes will not necessarily reduce accidents," he added.


European Transport Commissioner Antonio Tajani last week said he would propose the creation of a global blacklist after it emerged that a Yemenia airliner that crashed near Comoros had previously raised safety concerns during European Union checks.

the proposal was from the European Union.
mr gonzales adds that he has no mandate from ICAO states to agree on it.

this upsets me really. why should flights be any different than any other product on the market?
i want to know what really i'm boarding on.

1. FAA can prohibit planes from landing &taking off in US-I believe they do this with certain countries

3. A Good Example of this is MIAT Air
Diplomats are forbidden from flying the Airline because it has a spotty safety record and it flies in some of the worst weather.

Yet, that information is not given out to the general public.
