translation:
"The judge, the jury and the german government are in this case all criminals, who have to be held accountable", Iran's president Mahmud Ahmadinejad was quoted Sundayon the Internet-page of the state-owned channel IRIB. "We want the UNO-security-council to punish them." he further declared.

What had happened?
A racist had stabbed to death an egyptian woman in court, while she was testifying against him.
What was the case about?
He had slurred her racially and was sentenced to a 780€ fine in an earlier hearing. As this was a low-profile case, no extra security measures were applied.

1. What was particularly shocking about it, apparently was that the German
media had virtually ignored it. The coverage of the murder was minimal, to say the least. Very disappointing.

7. I saw the article when it first happened, and the coverage never mentioned that the witness was ....
a foreigner in Germany. Very odd.

13. They said that the attacker, "Mr W." was from "Russia descent" also
Now to me, it looks like she took him to court for what may have been "verbal abuse" but why didn't she have hubby go next door and discuss the issue , man to man ?
snip

She was stabbed 18 times inside the courtroom by the man,
She had accused him of racism for calling her a terrorist, apparently because she wore the Hijab, or Muslim headscarf.

One commentator wrote the life of an Egyptian was worthless, because he is treated as such by his own government.
The incident is evidence that the West does have a serious image problem in predominantly Muslim societies such as Egypt.
That is despite the fact that millions dream of travelling - and many do - to Western countries in search of a better life.
It is also proof that the theme of "Islam under attack" is a popular one.
It is exploited by Islamist activists, in the media and society at large, as well as by the governments they oppose across the region for different ends.
For the Islamists, it is an effective rallying cry to mobilise the masses against a pro-Western regime.
For the governments, it is a useful ploy to deflect public anger or local frustrations onto an external enemy

Seriously, maybe this guy was on meds and had tourettes issues ? Maybe not but if they don't want to assimilate, they have to respect the culture of the adopted country.

She could have humored Mr W. and juggled red rail road flares while yelping that tonque wagging thing....
and maybe he would have cut her some slack
( unlike Egyptians )

More info on his side of the story would be appreciated imo.

2. Jerk ...
Ahmadinejad - This is why you are a jerk. The event didn't happen in Iran, didn't involve Iranians and had nothing to do with Iran and you pronounce verdict ...If it wasn't this tragic, it would have at least been funny !

BTW, you might want to shut up and pay attention to the protests at home. maybe, you might want the Iran police, jury, judges and the entire Iranian government to be censured by the UNSC ...

3. I think he's reaching for irony
I mean hell, with as much as the US and Europe has been trying to find a way to bomb the everloving shit out of Iran, and demanding "punishment" for every goddamned thing that can be dreamed of, I imagine this is just him going "neener neener"

9. Ahmadinejad won't lash out at China for closing the mosques on friday..supposedly the high holy day
of muslims around the world but he chose a german of Russian decent ( Chechen roots ? ) to fan the flames in Egypt. The muslim brotherhood like the attention.

But why not include the righteous "honor killings" going on under sharia law all over the world ?
Killing of mothers, daughters and wives in the name of alla is OK
:sarcasm:
they still hang gays in Tehran dinner jacket? Seems a lot were forced out of the closet when the election was protested.
<crickets>

hypocrites one and all.

4. People guilty of domestic crimes are still allowed to protest inhumanity abroad.
That is how the United States gets to criticize other countries.

11. President asks UN to impose sanctions on Germany over hijab martyr incident
yes, right after the UN impose sanctions on Iran for killing a female journalist from Canada.

TEHRAN – Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has criticized the West for its double-standard policy toward the human rights issue and asked the UN Security Council to impose sanctions on Germany for the murder of Marwa al-Sherbini.

snip

“This appalling event documents the corruption of the German judicial system and is a scandal for the United Nations,” he noted.

Underlining the need to bring the culprits responsible for the tragic incident to justice, he said the world will never forget this catastrophe and will pursue the case until human rights are restored
