Source: bbc

A stage being built in France for a concert by pop star Madonna has collapsed, killing one worker and injuring six, emergency services say.

Technicians had been setting up the stage at the Velodrome stadium in Marseille when the partially-built roof fell in, bringing down a crane.

A French worker, 53, was killed and two of those hurt, a Briton and a US citizen, were seriously injured.

4. I thought she would say she was glad the stage collapsed and that she hoped
the workers would rot in hell. Go figure.

5. isn't madonna allowed to state her sorrow - or are pop stars forbidden to feel by definition?

9. What a horrible thing! Here's more from Madonna:
Footage posted online shows Madonna making an emotional tribute to the technicians at her concert in Italy on Thursday.

"I just wanted to take a moment to acknowledge and pay tribute to two people who lost their lives today," she told fans at the Fruili Stadium in Udine.

"It's a great tragedy to me," she continued, choking back tears. "I feel so devastated to be in any way associated with anyone's suffering.

"Let's all just take a moment to say a prayer for Charles Criscenzo and Charlie Prow. Our hearts go out to their family and loved ones."

BTW: The concert has been cancelled. If I were Madonna, I sure wouldn't feel like performing after that.

:-(
