This, from Politico, seems like potentially huge news:

Senate Finance Committee Chairman Max Baucus (D-Mont.) said Thursday that he hopes to have a bipartisan deal on a health care reform bill by the end of the day.

He made the remarks after huddling for about two hours with five Finance Committee members most closely involved in the negotiations. It was the first time Baucus acknowledged a time frame for reaching an agreement.

“We are meeting very aggressively today,” Baucus said of the bipartisan group, which plans to meet again at 1:30 p.m. “We will keep meeting all day long. I hope we can reach some kind of agreement by the end of the day, but having said that, it depends on what kind it is." ...

1. God save us

As a former health care giver, I am shocked and saddened to see what has become of health care in America. $ 1. 4 million is being spent per day in DC by the health care lobbyists so your elected representative is getting taken care of and has quality health care we pay for and can't afford ourselves for our families, I know what is deemed, defended and supported in Tennessee and Virginia as quality health care and clearly profit care comes ahead of patient care. http://www.wisecountyissues.com/?p=62 MRSA ( methicillin resistant staphylococcus aureas ) is infesting our communities because filthy, uncaring hospitals and emergency rooms are breeding them and spreading them into our schools, homes, restaurants. How many more Americans' will be diseased or die while 74 % of Americans' are begging for health care reform ? More people died in America last year from MRSA complications than AIDS. When MRSA and a flu bug start mixing, it won't be pretty and we are being infected by the very health care system we depend on and trust to keep us safe and healthy. If we had "the best health care" in the world then why does RAM ( Remote Area Medical ) come to Wise County, Virginia year after year so people can go to the fairgrounds and stand in a line like cattle in the hot July sun just to see a health care provider ??? America's health care system is a disgraceful sham !

Bi-partisan? What is partisan about human rights? Healthcare is a basic human right.

3. ACCESS to healtcare is a basic human right.

There's no "basic human right" to force people to do something for you without doing anything for them in return.

4. The current dysfunctional system leaves no access to health care for tens of millions of Americans.

It is the insurance corporations forcing people to do something; that being go without treatment or die without giving any thing in return.

Virtually every dollar profited from that immoral industry is a dollar lost to the peoples' actual health care.

They are dysfunctional to our society and there is no reason other than possibly insuring people for elective cosmetic surgery for them to exist.

Great. In other words, my lovely "centrist" senators Collins and Snowe have gutted public option in the same way they gutted the stimulus package. They're supporting the extreme right by ensuring President Obama fails.
