9/11 Commission members act to finally wrap it up
Source: CNN

Key members of the original 9/11 Commission are banding together to rekindle the sense of urgency felt after the 2001 attacks and pressure the government to act on the commission's unfinished business.

-----

Among what they described as unfinished business failings were:

• Failure to enforce national standards for state driver's licenses and other IDs, which the 9/11 Commission said are as important to terrorists as weapons.

• Lack of a system to determine if visitors to the United States leave the country.

• Lack of the ability of police, firefighters and others to communicate.

• No reform of a system that places oversight of the Department of Homeland Security in the hands of more than 80 congressional committees and subcommittes, sapping the department's time and energies.

2. Your last bullet may actually be a good thing

Slows down sapping more of our freedoms in the name of terrorism to keep us safe from imagined terrorizers.

We can do far more to keep us safe from terrorism if we would stop terrorizing other countries ourselves.

4. What does it tell you that for a year after 9/11 non-carry on baggage still wasn't screened, that
the suggestions above were never implemented, that the borders were never secured, that major ports and port security were being sold to foreigners? Maybe that the the powers that be felt no need to spend the money because, hey, you know, they weren't planning any more attacks. Wake up people, 9/11 was an inside job.

8. Yes it was
Welcome to DU aldo. Yes they never seemed to follow through like they already knew it doesn't matter. And some here call us truthers conspiracy nuts. If 9/11 was committed by "terrorist" we would have closed our borders too.

5. The third bullet killed most of the firefighters who died on 911. They
had asked for communication equipment, but Mayor noun verb 911 turned them down. If I had been one of the widows, he would not have gotten within 200 yards of my husband's funeral.

Not to mention that ignored advice to move the city's emergency response offices from out of the WTC. He should have gone to prison. Instead, Dummya let him nominate Kerik.

And then, he went on to become rich consulting on things like that? (Employing his pedophile priest buddy along the way.)

And had the gall to run for POTUS?

7. They left out
An INVESTIGATION.

What a fucking joke. Oh everything changed after 9/11. But we still don't have cops and firemen talking to each other in emergencies?
Oh and lets not worry about "terrorist" getting into the country with false ID's. So we don't know if they leave the country, who cares. But you average joe take your shoes off at the airport and get rid of that jar of jam. Oh and while were at it let's put a 9/11 tax on ticket prices. Amazing in 1961 JFK wanted to go to the moon. 8 years later we did it. 2001 the WTC is destroyed 8 years later there's still a hole in the ground, and a shit load of unanswered questions.

10. Yep, too many things were glossed over or ignored
I'm not saying Al Qaeda didn't attack, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was LIHOP by Cheney and his people in the FBI/CIA. They needed an excuse to invade Iraq.
