Sessions vows third GOP vote AGAINST Sotomayor
Source: USA Today

WASHINGTON — Sen. Jeff Sessions, the top Republican on the Senate Judiciary Committee, says he will vote against Judge Sonia Sotomayor's confirmation to the Supreme Court in the committee vote scheduled for Tuesday.

In a column published in today's USA TODAY, the Alabama senator questioned whether Sotomayor would follow through as a justice on her pledge in confirmation hearings to show "fidelity to the law."

4. No surprise here...
Considering how offensive Sen. Sessions was to Judge Sotomayor during the hearings it does not surprise me that he is planning on voting against her.

It is a shame though that he didn't decide to vote FOR her because if he had announced that - then he would have made the news cycle for at least 48 hours and it would have shown that he was not such a bigot and racist 'that he truly is'.

10. Did you notice that Graham is the only one
Did you notice that Graham is the only one from a Red "McCain" State that votes for (all other FOR votes are from Blue States) and that no Republican Votes against are from Blue "Obama" states.

14. According to your link 64-13 with 23 not declared
Since there would be no reason to force Kennedy to come, it would be 22. The other 22 are all hard core R's and will vote against her (maybe one or two might stray and vote yes, but that would surprise me). If that stands true it should be 64-35 without Kennedy.

19. Sen. Grassley = NO
Iowa Sen. Chuck Grassley said today he planned to oppose the confirmation of Judge Sonia Sotomayor to the U.S. Supreme Court when the Senate Judiciary Committee votes on her nomination Tuesday.

The vote, which Grassley announced to The Des Moines Register, marks the first time Grassley will have opposed a high-court nominee in his 29 years on the committee.

21. What amazes me is this.. WHY is this "news"?
Just bring the vote to the floor and vote up or down.. Isn't that what republicans whined about forever..up or down..

We don't need to know "why" they will vote against her. We KNOW why..
