Witness Recounts Day Doctor (George Tiller) Was Killed In Church
Source: Ozark First

(Wichita, KS) -- Details are emerging in a Kansas court about the day Dr. George Tiller was murdered while ushering at church.

"The Wichita Eagle" reports church member Gary Hoepner was one of the witnesses at a preliminary hearing today for the man accused of killing Tiller.

Hoepner told the Sedgwick County District Court he was getting a doughnut at a snack table in church when he saw a man walk up to Tiller, put a gun to the doctor's head and pull the trigger.

He described the event as "surreal," recalling it "sounded like a little popgun."

Scott Roeder is charged with first-degree murder in the May 31st death of the physician who was one of few in the nation to perform controversial late-term abortions.

While Roeder hasn't talked about any personal involvement in the murder, he has called the killing justified and earlier expressed "relief and joy" to "The Kansas City Star" over Tiller's death.

14. i really would have liked to see more public pressure on OR and the other groups
because like the mafia, they played a much bigger role in this than they publicly admit (and have been celebrating behind closed doors)

3. Do you think Roeder's comments
will make him more or less likely to be convicted of first degree murder?

Do you think he will confess he was the murderer at this trial?

8. Jesus... that is frightening.
"Only after months of reading and praying, he said, did he conclude that violence could never be justified. Killing men like Dr. Tiller, he said, will only put off the day when abortion is outlawed altogether."

How many people agree with this sick shit? Enough to transform the Kansas legislature, obviously.

Sick.

10. I missed what you . . .
quoted --

"Only after months of reading and praying, he said, did he conclude that violence could never be justified. Killing men like Dr. Tiller, he said, will only put off the day when abortion is outlawed altogether."

who said that?

Meanwhile, just want to also add that NATURE is on the side of women having given
it's trust to women for childbearing -- from gestation to breastfeeding.

NATURE is also pro-choice having given women many ways thru plants to prevent conception,
to end conception -- and to end pregnancies -- and to permanently end fertility if they
wished. All of this knowledge of birth control thru plants and control over reproduction
has been destroyed by patriarchy.

Reality is that whether abortion is legal of illegal, just as many abortions occur every year.
The only difference when it is illegal is that abortion goes underground -- AND WOMEN DIE.

9. Thank you . . . took the time to read all of it . . . the religious idiots, of course . ..
don't really get that this is about the subjugation of women --
evidently women who support these churches and and anti-abortion are too
brainwashed by patriarchal religion to get it.

This certainly is domestic terrorism and we have to fight to try to get
it to be treated as such.

It's frightening that the best idea these Christian "pro-lifers" could come
up with is murder!!!

How ironic -- !!!

And, how disgusting -- it's kind of deja vous of our system of capital punishment --
we're killing people to teach them not to kill!!

America is insane and a large part of it is religious insanity.

6. This is an inspiring article. Dr. Tiller and his team were courageous people.
The only reason the anti-abortion folks can get away with this terrorism is because they wrap themselves in the mantel of Christianity. When will we stop tolerating this?

Recommend.

7. And these murdering bastards have the nerve to call themselves Christians....
If you are willing to "Kill for God"..it means your God has NO POWER and is a piss poor God if he can't kill the ones that anger him himself.
Why would an all powerful God need some nut to pull a trigger? That is simply ludicrous.
It also means you are NOT a true Christian if you want to kill for God, as killing anyone is against Christs teachings..AS WELL AS the Ten Commandments...period.
It also means you are a sick terrorist son of a bitch and we need to lock you up and throw away the keys forever.
Yogas and psychics that see, claim to see the soul hovering in the energy field of the mother...and entering into the soft spot on the top of the skull during the birth process. The same place the soul is seen to leave the vehicle at the time of death. This is why an expectant mother is seen as "glowing"..as she has TWO energy fields in her energy field. If the soul of the child cannot be born..it will merely go find another vehicle best suited for its life lessons it wishes to experience.
A soul cannot be destroyed as we are energy beings..and energy cannot be distroyed..it merely changes form.
As to abortion being murder...first prove to us there is a soul entered into that vehicle BEFORE it is born.

11. Additionally, this is an issue engineered by the GOP, by right wing fanatics . . .
and that includes the RCC --

and all of the legislators who have failed to stand against this "pro-life" murder -

and insanity!

17. The anti-womanists always use this line of scripture...
Jeremiah 1:5 is one of their favorites:

"Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you."

They always leave out the rest of the passage. The whole thing is, "Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee, and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations." (KJV)

I put the rest of the verse in because the Bible makes it clear God was talking about ONE GUY--the prophet Jeremiah. But the fundies say Jeremiah 1:5 applies to everyone.

One would think the next time God decides to form a prophet unto the nations in the womb of some young woman, he'd tell her "look, I'm going to form a prophet unto the nations in your womb so you need to get some proper pre-pregnancy medical attention, quit smoking, stop drinking and up your intake of folic acid," but that never seems to happen.

12. Will anyone really be able to walk into that church and feel truly at ease ever again?
It will be a terrible memory for everyone there, least of all his wife and family.
