End immoral Cuba embargo, US told
Source: BBC News

The US should lift sanctions on Cuba as a prelude to dropping its "immoral" trade embargo against the island, Amnesty International has urged.

US President Barack Obama has until 14 September to decide whether or not to extend the Trading with the Enemy Act, which imposes sanctions on Cuba.

The embargo is preventing Cubans from accessing life-saving medicine, says Amnesty Secretary General Irene Khan.

Some 37.5% of Cuban children under the age of three have been affected by the ban on nutritional products, the report suggests.

2. I support ending the embargo, but everything was fine until their sugar daddy turned toes up.
Castro actually hosted a conference of Latin American leaders in the mid-80s at which he held Cuba up as an example to the other states. There was no mention of the US embargo then.

But, yes, let's end the embargo AND the travel ban.

4. You're wildly uninformed. Do your homework, learn something about the subject
before offering your opinion. You couldn't be more off the track with this bizarre post.

7. Toes up?
Does this mean dead? If so, then you need to read and learn as Fidel is still alive and doing well for a man of 83 who has undergone dangerous intestinal surgery. He is also no longer the leader of the Cuban nation. That mantle has passed to Raul, his brother and head of the armed forces. Venceremos!

6. Since other countries trade with Cuba, we should, too.

The embargo is stupid and wasteful, and gives the dictator an excuse for the poor productivity of his economy.

The embargo has gone on for far too long, and there needs to be political courage to end it. Let's hope we can muster that courage.
