China security forces use tear gas in far-west city

BEIJING, Sept 4 (Reuters) - Security forces in far-west China's strife-hit city of Urumqi used tear gas to break up fresh protests on Friday, the official Xinhua news agency reported.

"Tear gas has been deployed to disperse the protesters," said the brief English-language report.
