Horses seized from man who threatened to shoot them
Edited on Fri Sep-04-09 02:45 PM by harvey007
Source: Denver Post

The Denver Post just published this update on the Weld County tea-bagger who threatened to kill his horses to start a "second American Revolution."

"Parker claimed that during his glory days in Denver he was actually working for the CIA and that his run for the U.S. Senate was orchestrated by the CIA."

5. We're not heading into anything.
We never left it, all that happened was that it was allowed to fester, and now we are facing the results of complacency!!

21. Not really....
I've heard people play the death card for decades, everything from killing their pets because they can't afford them, to killing themselves because the Social Security office couldn't help them.

Somebody, sometimes a lot of people, have wanted to "shoot" someone in the government since 1776, but if you handed them a loaded gun and led them to the persons door, they wouldn't do it.

What's different, is that when you say or do something stupid, it goes around the world in minutes. Somebody is going to take you seriously, especially if they don't know you and don't know you're just a stupid asshole with a big mouth.

It's kinda overwhelming at times if you get too big a dose of stupid and that's not hard to do.

24. Yes: cranky white man did hit black mom's child
When I first heard the report on TV news here in ATL I had suspected the mother and child were black.

Here's the police report copy on The Smoking Gun site:

http://www.thesmokinggun.com/archive/years/2009/0902091slap3.html

Further proof that racism is a mental illness? I bet he wouldn't have hit a white child. I could be wrong.

I'm happy somebody has rescued the horses.

Please edit your subject line to the correct title of the article to comply with LBN posting rules:
"Judge orders horses seized from man who threatened to shoot them".

You can add more details in parenthesis if needed.

Judge orders horses seized from man who threatened to shoot them(Teabagger claims he formally worked for CIA) or something similar. :)

3. It would be the shortest lived revolution in history.
and why the fuck would he shoot his own horses? That's not only stupid and un-financially sound but it's downright cruel.

Crazy dumb fuck.

14. Cruelty is Never Seen as a Negative
by the rightwing. They believe you are a REAL MAN if you can kill things. "Be macho. Go kill a bear. Women love that".

And in this looney's case, it is crazy in the financial sense but he's gone off the deep end already!

4. I used to know another guy who claimed he worked for the CIA.
He was an unmedicated schizoprenic who hung out at the UU church where I was a member. If you listened, he'd tell you all about how Ronald Reagan and Golda Meir used to hang out with him and give him assignments.

I think the same thing is going on in this example.

12. Caught the second part of the hilarious comedy, The In-Laws starring Peter Falk, the other day.
Edited on Fri Sep-04-09 05:01 PM by Joe Chi Minh
If you haven't seen it, Falk plays a wild, nutty, CIA field-operative type.

Anyway, I thought that was funny enough - especially his line about having thought up the Bay of Pigs fiasco - but apparently he did once apply to join the CIA, and when he told his interviewer that he and his girlfriend had spent some time after the war, helping Tito and his (Communist) partisans build a railway in their country, he said his interviewer nearly blew a gasket, or words to that effect.

"What?" Falk asked, "You don't think I'd be welcome at Langley?" Welcome! the interviewer replied. "Hell, you wouldn't be welcome in the state!" Something along those lines. I bet he'd have been hilarious testifying before McCarthy's UnAmerican Activities mob!

Incidentally, we also had a wonderful two-part documentary on Scottish TV about the Scots who'd joined the Communist and Socialist, International Brigade, fighting Franco and his fascist horde. The young researcher, who I believe works at the National Library in Edinburgh, interviewed some of the old boys who were still alive, and got their first accounts. It was all interlaced with film footage from their campaign and comments from one or two historians.

One gnarled, old veteran, said that, when he returned from school one day, his mother told him that he would not be seeing his father again ..... and that he was the man of the family now. After a pause of a few seconds, he exploded with a blasphemy, ".... I was only twelve years old!" A very comical moment, the main subject matter, nothwithstanding. He seemed a right character, too, as if was wearing a white bib, but it was just a wrinkled pullover.

My Spanish master at school and the father of a liverpool lad in our billet in Malaysia had also fought in that dreadful civil war. Of course, it was a defining time in their lives they'd never forget. A certain romance about it.

16. We are facing a lot of pent up anger
Eight years of George W. Bush

Economic globalization (starting to accelerate under Clinton with NAFTA's passage and exacerbated under Bush II) has eroded our communities, local jobs, et. al.

And finally, all of the great hope placed in Obama who after all did run on a platform of hope and change - is starting to fade - Some political analysts from the far left are beginning to call him not another FDR or JFK but just another politician. This realization is being felt by the masses.

20. I have noticed
an upswing in bizarre and violent (including threatening of violence) incidents like this lately. I find myself puzzling at it. It has escalated far beyond mere political opposition. It is as if some sort of collective hysteria wave is spreading out there. I wonder, can these sorts of things, many of which remind me of the old witchhunts of yore, actually be stopped; or do we simply have to let the irrationality run its course?

22. espiral your observations are accurate
What would have to stop is the Beck, Hannity, Limpballs and others like them to stop inciting irrational fears.

Something will have to give, sadly another domestic terroristic act by some right wing nut is going to occur before something changes.

At that point it will be up to the 80% of Americans to demand that the DOJ start looking at Beck, Hannity, Limpballs for their roles in inciting violence. They can't hide behind their microphones, free speech and media like they have been.
