Could they somehow add a rider which would force Joe to trot over to the Senate to apologize to them as well?

9. This is good, because Wilson is being a dick about it.
As Saxby Chambliss might say, he's not showing sufficient humility.

10. Then send your troops onto the talk shows to paint the whole GOP with this, Speaker.
After this summer of outrageous and dangerous Republican activities, it's no less than they deserve.

11. How about a resolution for an immediate recall election for Joe Wilson's seat?
Yeah yeah, I know it's not possible under the law, but a man can dream can't he? :)

21. Actions have consequences
Isn't that the Republican mantra? - Rule of law, pull yourself up by your bootstraps, accept personal responsibility etc. You can let the Joe Wilson types of the world get away with disregarding protocol and thinking they are above the law. Rules are rules.

You know the wingers would be screaming for the same thing if one of ours had called bush a liar in the same kind of setting. At least our side had the smarts to keep those comments to themselves during this kind of event. Oh I'm sure a whole bunch of them thought it, but they didn't go berserk on bushie in a public setting, with millions of American families watching.

Those family values types sure are some big ass hypocrites. Always thinking that rules and the law never applies to them.

:kick:

25. CUE THE VONAGE THEME!
Edited on Fri Sep-11-09 05:12 PM by rocktivity
She HAS to do SOMETHING, or the Rethugs will out-rowdy the Marx Brothers at all future Congressional proceedings. Wilson needs to apologize not only for his improper behavior, but for describing as a lie what was actually the truth. And Nancy shouldn't stop at Wilson--I understand there was someone wearing a sign around his neck. It's called LEADERSHIP!

:woohoo:

26. I don't understand why Pelosi is making threats. She is the House Majority Leader
We have the majority in the House, and Nancy Pelosi should just go straight to sanctioning Joe Wilson, then censure, and the reprimand him for good measure. Joe Wilson and the Republicans don't have to power to do a thing about it.

Threats are a sign of weakness. Nancy Pelosi should either hammer Wilson, of let it go
