House plans to admonish Rep. Wilson over insult
September 11, 2009 14:36 EDT

WEST COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) -- Congressman Joe Wilson says he will "not be muzzled."

Democratic leaders are planning to vote early next week to admonish the South Carolina Republican if he doesn't apologize on the House floor for yelling "You lie!" at President Barack Obama.

Wilson told the White House he was sorry shortly after the incident the other night, but has refused to apologize on the House floor. Wilson's office says the congressman considers his initial apology sufficient.

But many Democrats remain angry with Wilson's insult and have pressed for further action. They say the insult clearly violated House rules.

Wilson, in a video on his campaign Web site, says he'll continue to speak out against what he calls a "risky" health plan.

4. I would rather they spent their time, energy, and outrage....
....working on a way to get us a STRONG Public Option.

As feel goody as admonishing the idiot Congressman from SC is,
it IS a complete waste of time, and a diversion from more important business.

Fuck that idiot from South Carolina.
He isn't worth our time, and drawing attention is what he (they) want.

7. If We Allow This Jerk To Get Away With This Sort Of Behavior......
.....getting a public option is probably out of the question. You don't get anywhere by appeasing bottom-feeders like Wilson. I wish to hell the White House would catch on to that obvious fact......

6. They need a rule to eliminate all interuptions during presidential addresses
It dilutes the flow of the intended message to have the address constantly interupted. I prefer that all audience response, whether it be applause, cat-calls, whistles, "here, here", etc. be saved for the END of the address. It is much easier to get a true sense of what is being said if it isn't cut into pieces by on site audience.
