Traficant mulling another run for Congress
Source: CNN Political Ticker

>>>>Former Democratic Rep. James Traficant, who only days ago was released from a federal prison after serving seven years on a bribery and racketeering conviction, told CNN Monday he may make a bid to return to Congress.

"I'm not sure at this point," Traficant told CNN's John Roberts on American Morning when asked if he wanted to seek a return to the body that, in a near unanimous vote, voted to expel him more than seven years ago.

"Both parties would not want to see me in Washington, believe me… I was very controversial down there," he said. "I'm the guy that changed the burden of proof in a civil tax case and had a bill moving forward that would finally, with the fair justice act, allow these people in the Justice Department to be charged and investigated and prosecuted for crimes.">>>> snip

>>>>"You know, beam me up, I'm ready if I decide to run," Traficant also said, using his trademark closing like from Star Trek.>>>>

5. You know that holdout that dissented the ethic violation?
It turned out to be Gary Condit.

For those who knows Condit's issues know what I'm talking about.

10. Yes he can
Federal Office Holders:

The Constitution requires that members of the House and Senate fulfill three requirements:

All members of the House must be at least 25 years old, and members of the Senate must be at least 30 years old.

Members of the House must have been a U.S. citizen for at least seven years, and members of the Senate must have been a U.S. citizen for at least nine years.

They have to be an "inhabitant" of the state "when elected."

The Constitution allows a convicted felon, to be a member of Congress, even if in prison. It's up to the Senate or House to decide who may serve.
