Zazi Admits Al-Qaeda Ties, May Plead Guilty(NYC/Denver Raids)

DENVER -- The Aurora man under FBI investigation for alleged ties to a New York bomb plot has admitted he has ties to al-Qaida and is in negotiations to plead guilty to a terror charge, a senior law enforcement official told ABC News.

The official said Zazi had received explosives training and his possible guilty plea would be part of a deal to cooperate with the government.

The 24-year-old Zazi had insisted he had "no ties, no connection to al-Qaida" in interviews with reporters earlier this week.

But after two eight-hour interrogations at the FBI offices in Denver on Wednesday and Thursday, Zazi told a different story Friday morning, the law enforcement official said.

Zazi's attorney, Arthur Folsom, called the reports "completely unfounded."

The Afghan national at the center of a reputed Al Qaeda terror cell probe was trying to cut a deal Friday after two days of FBI grilling, sources told the Daily News.

Lawyers for Najibullah Zazi, 25, were negotiating with federal officials for an agreement where he could admit receiving military training - but deny plans to injure any Americans, sources familiar with the case said.

Zazi arrived at the FBI's Denver office Friday for a third day of questioning. He did a pair of eight-hour Q&A sessions with federal agents on the two previous days.

"Our strategy has not changed," his lawyer, Arthur Folsom, said before going inside Friday. "My client hasn't done anything. Our position is to answer the FBI's questions.

"They are asking him about everything -- the people he knows, people he's talked to, family members."

1. I wonder...
...how many of those agents served under the previous admin.

AG Holder will do well to mind the minders just to ensure everything is on the up and up.

2. Wedding code word for attack?
Edited on Fri Sep-18-09 05:54 PM by RamboLiberal
The ties between Najibullah Zazi and al-Qaida are growing. A source who gets high-level intelligence briefings told CBS 2 HD that law enforcement officials have recorded a number of conversations between Zazi and a known al-Qaida operative in Pakistan.

The key parts of the conversation? The operative told Zazi what to say if stopped by police, and there is also a reference to a "wedding," which American agents believe is a code word for an attack.

Sources said the formula for the explosive TATP was found in Zazi's computer when they seized his car, and with President Barack Obama coming to the UN next week, the FBI felt it needed to act.

-----

Over the 9/11 weekend, Zazi was in Queens. On Monday, agents raided homes in Flushing where Zazi had been a guest, recovering backpacks and cell phones, among other items.

Authorities said those items were not uncommon until you factor in trips they said Zazi took to terrorist training camps in Pakistan, where he learned about bombs and had contact with al-Qaida.

Later, while in Queens, officials said Zazi inquired about hydrogen peroxide, which terrorists use to make bombs.

4. "Zazi Admits Al-Qaeda Ties". How do you admit ties to an org that does not exist?

"Zazi Admits Al-Qaeda Ties".

How do you admit ties to an org that does not exist?

How do you admit ties to an org that UK foreign secretary admitted and
publicly stated does not exist.

go to www.freedocumentaries.org and watch the BBC documentary
Called "The Power of Nightmares" part 3 by Adam Curtis, the most awarded BBC documentary filmmaker in history it seems.

THE POWER OF NIGHTMARES 3: THE SHADOWS IN THE CAVE

It explains that al qaeda does not exist.

www.commondreams and www.counterpunch also have articles that refer to pretty well established
documentation of the fact that al qaeda is a CIA/Pentagon invention

even more documentation:

7. After we secretly armed "al Qaeda" to fight against the Soviet Union...

other Middle Eastern intelligence types utilized the same people in sponsoring terrorism. This is not some conjured up conspiracy theory, it is all a matter of record. I would say that al Qaeda is more or less a fabrication of all these intelligence agencies at one time or another, but the question should be who is working toward the goal of keeping this going? The corruption in our own government, including the FBI, simply gets ignored.

14. No
No, I'd be in favor of banks not making large unsecured loans to people with little income and no assets.

And I'd be in favor of the taxpayers not bailing out the banks that make those loans.
