Terror Suspect's Computer Said to Show Sports Stadiums, Fashion Sites

A computer belonging to alleged al Qaeda suspect Najibullah Zazi showed he had researched baseball and football stadiums and sites used in the recent Fashion Week event in New York City, law enforcement officials tell ABCNews.com.

Zazi, 24, had been scheduled to spend a fourth day today being questioned by the FBI but his lawyer, Arthur Folsom, canceled the session.

"He has taken the day to consult with his client," said Wendy Aiello, a spokeswoman for the lawyer.

Zazi is not in custody, she said.

The officials said text messages sent by Zazi suggest the plot was nearing the attack phase. One message said the "wedding cake is ready," which authorities say may have been code to indicate the attack was ready. Al Qaeda operatives have frequently used references to weddings to disguise planned terror attacks.

A former counterterrorism official familiar with the investigation said that the group of Afghans tried to rent the truck September 9, but were unsuccessful after three different credit cards they attempted to use were declined. The men, who held driver's licenses from Florida and Ohio, also were unable to use cash for the rental, the official said.

The FBI searched the U-Haul location Thursday, the official said.

U-Haul spokeswoman Joanne Fried confirmed the search and said the company is cooperating with the investigation. U-Haul staff identified one of the Afghans to the FBI as Naiz Khan, the former counterterrorism official said. Khan, whose apartment was raided by authorities earlier this week, had given Zazi a place to stay last weekend.

What I don't get is if he's such a bad-ass terrorist suspect why he hasn't been arrested yet? And if these dummies were thinking of a truck wonder if they'd be as stupid as the 93 WTC bombers and try to get their money back on the rental.

4. They were looking for heavy concentrations of people with low security.
Because any hit that takes out less than 3,000 means they're off their game. They're victims of their own success.

Indeed, the fouxNews Newscasters promote terrorists...and in an effort to hire up the best in news...they hire the best in the noose.

You would THINK they would change the codes just a LITTLE?

"The Bar Mitzvah boy is ready" would work.

8. Anyone hear of the book/movie Black Sunday?
Book by Thomas Harris of Hannibal Lecter fame. Movie starred Bruce Dern.

Goodyear pilot sympathetic to Mideast terrorists plots to fly the blimp into the Super Bowl with underside lined with plastic explosives and ten of thousands of rifle darts.

In light of 9/11 it seems quite plausible. In fact I don't think they've shown this film on TV since then.

"Al Qaeda operatives have frequently used references to weddings to disguise planned terror attacks."

I begin to wonder a little bit less why we've seen so many reports over the last 8 years of bombings of supposed weddings. Maybe sometimes a wedding cake is actually a wedding cake.

10. He should've been looking up photos of the models themselves...
...rather than spilling the beans by searching those sites. Good thing the FBI probably didn't give him enough time to clear his browser history. Otherwise crucial evidence would've been erased. I watched a story about that man on CBS Evening News today and think that he's being evasive and inconsistent in his defense.

12. Worst "evidence" ever
So wedding cakes and an interest in sports is enough to flag someone as a terror suspect now?

We are the biggest whimps ever.
