N-secrets sold to Iran: (A Q) Khan
Source: deccan herald

In a damning indictment of a generation of Pakistan’s political and military leadership, rogue nuclear scientist Dr A Q Khan has sensationally disclosed it was former prime minister Benazir Bhutto who had asked him to hand over the country’s nuclear know-how to Iran and North Korea.

According to the ‘Sunday Times’, the maestro of the world’s largest nuclear black market, made the revelation in a four-page ‘secret’ letter addressed to his Dutch wife Henny. The letter explained how he was made a scapegoat in the nuclear proliferation controversy. The letter was written after his arrest in 2003.

Khan, whose movements were recently challenged by the Pakistan government after a court relaxed the terms of his arrest, had also sent a copy of the letter to his daughter, Dina, settled in London.

The paper described the December 10, 2003 letter, handwritten in apparent haste, as ‘extraordinary’ and claimed its contents had never been revealed before. The paper said one of its journalists obtained a copy of the letter in 2007. The letter, which contains intriguing details of Pakistan’s nuclear programme, also outlined the country’s nuclear links with China and its official support to the atomic programme of Iran and North Korea. The letter also mentions Libya.

“Probably with the blessings of B B (Benazir Bhutto) General Imtiaz (Benazir’s defence advisor) asked... me to give a set of drawings and some components to the Iranians...The names and addresses of suppliers were also given to the Iranians,” the disgraced 74-year-old scientist said in the letter.

3. Benazir Bhutto was twice Prime Minister of Pakistan (1988–1990; 1993–1996).
The hand over to the Iranians was therefore during the Bush I or Clinton presidencies.

I've never thought that the alleged "rogue operation" by Khan was a plausible story.

He's never appeared to be the kind of person who would do something without authorization from his superiors.

11. Just because Bush wasn't President yet doesn't mean that it
wasn't his fault.

15. Try reading some real history - like the BCCI report. You do KNOW who GHWBush is, right?

16. thanks blm - that's exactly where my mind went -
I think that it happened back in 1988/89 - according to what I had read previously.

2. He didn't exactly say that she did...
What he said, according to the report, was "Probably with the blessings of B B (Benazir Bhutto) General Imtiaz (Benazir’s defence advisor) asked... me to give a set of drawings and some components to the Iranians...The names and addresses of suppliers were also given to the Iranians,”

So Bhutto didn't actually tell him to do so; it was Imtiaz, according to Khan (and I wouldn't trust him all that much further than I could throw him in any case).

8. Bhutto intended to turn Khan over - she was murdered shortly after. I think he's lying to
distract blame away from the real characters involved - Poppy Bush and his cronies in Saudi Arabia, Dubai and Pakistan.

10. Yes, why would she have had access when it was done.
Explains why Bush admin LOVED Pakistan even when they harbored bin Laden, and then outed Plame AND Bruster Jennings.

Hide the trail.

Probably worried that the Turkish caught wind, or would, and had to gag Sibel Edmonds as well.

12. I believe your time line is off. She was PM (and could have turned
Kahn over) through 1996; but, wasn't murdered until December 2007.

And realistically, no politician there could run on the platform of turning Khan over to another country. Fucked-up as it is, Kahn remains a Pakistani national hero in . Killing him to keep her part hidden perhaps, but extraditing him was never in the cards.

14. Your timeline is off - When Bhutto was making her LAST run she said she'd turn Khan over
for international review. Shortly after she was murdered.

Blaming her now smacks of Poppy Bush's attempts to have his Texas minions imply that Johnson had Kennedy killed.

5. It is really sad that the BCCI investigation was ended in 1992
Kerry wrote a list of 20 items that still needed investigation. Investigating how BCCI funded the development of Pakistan's bomb, which Khan led was the number item. Had that whole thing been investigated then they could have stopped the transfer of information to many rogue countries.

18. Global terror networks would've been thoroughly outted if BCCI scrutiny went on - BFEE couldn't
allow that, now, could they?

Sad and tragic that Clinton helped deepsix those matters for Poppy and Jackson Stephens - no Bush would've been able to run for office and 9-11 would NEVER have happened.

7. Warning to Khan about Pakistan Army
Years earlier, the newspaper said Khan had been warned about the Pakistan army by Li Chew, the senior minister who ran China’s nuclear-weapons programme. Visiting Kahuta, Li had said: "As long as they need the bomb, they will lick your balls. As soon as you have delivered the bomb, they will kick your balls." In the letter to his wife, Khan rephrased things: "The bastards first used us and are now playing dirty games with us."

9. Iran has made no secret of their involvement with AQ Kahn.
They even turned over to the IAEA blue prints for a nuclear bomb that they did not order but was included in a shipment of materials for their civilian energy program. This is old news.
