It must be terrible having a loved one disappear like that.

I've been hoping he just went to Europe or somewhere for a few weeks. Swimming to Cambodia is a testament to his genius... Here's a few more links relating to the body found in the East River: NY Post: Corpse in East RiverWNBC-TV: Cops Trying To Determine If Body In River Is Missing Actor

Closure, maybe, for the family, though I hate the word. Feel awful for his kids. Youngest is only six.

Can anyone fill me in on the details? Some of these posts seem to imply this was expected.

13. Spalding had suffered from... |
|
major depressive episodes and went missing over a month ago. His family suspected that he had thrown himself off the Staten Island Ferry.
Depression is a terrible thing.

Spaulding Gray was a very talented man. I'm so sorry to hear that his depression caused him to do this.
I hope his family can find some comfort in at least knowing what happened to him. Sometimes people disappear and the families never know what happened to them.
May Spaulding rest in peace.

Spaulding was as likely to have just rambled off somewhere as he was to have killed himself. I was hoping he'd had some sort of fugue or amnesia.
Damn, damn, damn.

|
a couple years ago. He was pretty depressed. I've read a number of his books and saw him live once. He was special. Hard to categorize. Just a great human being. :(

21. You can catch him as, ironically, a psychiatrist on The Nanny which |
|
reruns on TVLand. He had a recurring, occasional role as Fran's psychiatrist. Needless to say, he was wonderfully wry in the role...
