3. More reasonable headline: "U.S. joins int'l effort to donate H1N1 vaccines to poor nations: envoy "
http://news.xinhuanet.com/english/2009-09/18/content_12072291.htm

" UNITED NATIONS, Sept. 17 (Xinhua) -- In an effort to stop the global spread of the H1N1 pandemic, the United States has partnered with other countries to supply developing countries with a vaccine, said U.S. Ambassador to the UN Susan Rice here on Thursday.

"The United States is joining with Australia, Brazil, France, Italy, New Zealand, Norway, Switzerland and the United Kingdom on collective action aimed at saving lives and minimizing the economic and social dislocations that may be caused by the 2009 H1N1 influenza around the world," Rice told reporters outside the Security Council.

U.S. President Barack Obama announced on Thursday that the U.S. is prepared to make 10 percent of his country's H1N1 vaccine supply available to developing countries through the World Health Organization (WHO), said Rice. "

Good job, Mr. Obama. Nice to see us rejoining the world community.

6. Just convince enough people that it's dangerous, and there will be plenty of vaccine.
And fewer stupid people come Spring.

13. If we don't
this decision will be blamed greatly.

Also, this move will stiffen resistance to universal healthcare. The main opposition to it is the "something for nothing" feeling that a lot of taxpaying Americans feel about government programs, and giving freebie vaccines to Third World countries looks a lot like redistribution.
